i am very excited about this, i just have one question though. i have a blackberry 9700 right now, and am currently out of contract. i have the unlimited data, would extending my contract to get this phone require me to change data plans, in turn have to get one of the capped ones? because chances are, even if were to get this, i dont see myself giving up my blackberry anytime soon and would be switching back and fourth between the 2 devices pretty frequently, so i would like to keep the bb data plan on my account, as i understand it works with other devices anyway (i used to use it on my iPhone on occasion).
Finally a decent Android phone. And with Google search no less.
Will it be locked to AT&T? Will they gimp it like the Aria (only downloads from market)? So many questions...
This Galaxy S or Nexus One? I had one on tmobile and now I got Att, I am tempted to buy another one , I love the trackball alert on the Nexus One and also it's by HTC so there are plenty of Rom in the XDA forum. The only thing I see about this Galaxy S that tempting me is the Super AMOLED and the 4" in screen, but it's also a Samsung, after the update fiasco with the Behold 2 from Tmobile, I don't know if I want to ever get a Samsung phone, there aren't that many support for custom Rom either. Also I heard At&t cripple the crap out of their Android phones. Thoughts anyone?
Also, with this phone being released worldwide, there ought to be clean ROM's available in case AT&T borks it. It may take a while for it to be successfully rooted, but it'll happen.
I'm extremely excited about this phone. I was all set to buy an iPhone 4 this summer, but the Captivate is easily a match. Really tough decision to be made here.
