Does anyone with an iPhone know if we can keep our unlimited data plan, if we switch to an Android device?
Never mind. I just read post number 92 in this thread. Looks like we will be able to keep our unlimited plan, which is a good thing.

It still looks like a tough call between this and the iphone4
I have had my iPhone 4 since the 23rd. I've not had one problem with it. The retina display is so exceptional, one must see it for themselves. That said, I'm not advocating for Apple, since I have huge issues around their ethics, or lack thereof. Yet I was not going to let that stop me from trying the iPhone.*

To the question of which one to choose, that depends strictly on what your preferences are. I'm getting a Captivate, while keeping my iPhone on it's own line. I simply can't help myself, I'm too much of multi-platformist. That said, if I absolutely had to choose just one it would be an Android smartphone, once the OS is a bit more mature, say version 3.0. If Android gets serious about reducing fragmentation & reducing delays in pushing updates to all handsets, I see them becoming a predominant platform in the smartphone sector. The open architecture is very compelling.*

I went to the main AT&T store today (the one on the freeway with the huge AT&T logo on the tower), and they didn't have a floor model of the Captivate.

Really, AT&T? Can you try a little harder than this?

I've been looking for info on this, and one Android site said that it is there, however it will need to be enabled first. I guess we'll find out for sure on the 18th.

I guess it varies by location, because there are a few members here; http://androidforums.com/samsung-captivate/, who have reported going into their local AT&T store, and trying out the demo model.

gah...im really undecided what i wanna do, return the iPhone4 (still within my 30 days) for the captivate or what...the only issue i really have with my iPhone is that the BT stack is crap as it keeps cutting out with my Jeep...The antenna issue for me is negligible since I have a case for it and I havent had any dropped calls since release day. So for me Im not sure what to do...i also wanna wait to see what Apple has to say with their press conference on friday. If they are offering a recall (which I HIGHLY doubt) ill get it swapped but if they are just saying "Get Bent." Then my iP4 is goin back...

called local store and they said they do not know how many they are getting in (or have in already). Also stated it was $200 (no rebates) with contract and $350 with no contract.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

^ I was reading that CNet review this morning, and they gave the Captivate all 8's out of 10 which isn't bad. The picture that they took with the camera didn't look too good, but I guess that's to be expected since the phone doesn't have a flash.

most the reviews have scored the captivate as average, which I am fine with as long as the hardware holds up and it gets rooted (which I believe it already is) so I may put 2.2 on it.

Also, has there been confirmation that there is NO notification light, I havent seen anyone mention it
