LG Prime full touchscreen for GoPhone now on sale on AT&T webstite!
today i noticed that the lg prime went on sale for gophone. It's $99. thats a pretty good price for touchscreen prepaid. go check it out! Has a 2mp camera. Hopefully this comes out to stores soon. The lg prime is basically like a lg cookie fresh. http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-pho...0235#tabModule
hmmm loooks nice debating on getting this or the lg rumor touch from virgin mobile..
yea i saw it online too. does anyone know anything about the quality of the phone or anything else about it?? i like that its touchscreen while still being prepaid.. not a bad price either. please can anyone tell us anything about it?
I'm a current contract AT&T customer and just want the phone only to use my sim card. You can't order just the phone, you need to add a GoPhone plan... I'm holding off buying the LG Neon in hopes this will be in stores soon. Anyone have an idea the typical website to store time frame for GoPhones?

Depends if u need the beyond talk plan.Im taking my touch back and sticking with my Lg Neon on GoPhone.Virgin Mobile is having way to manny issues at the moment.
Hmm, a not bad price for a touchscreen for pre-paid, but if you want an affordable touchscreen phone on AT&T pre-paid, I'd just spend the extra $15 on an unlocked Nokia 5230 (not the T-mobile Nuron!!... the unbranded and unlocked 5230). Better reception, better battery, higher resolution screen, free GPS (no data required), free 4 GB microSD card included with the phone (expandable to 16 GB), 3G, full HTML browser, etc.
I put in my GoPhone SIM and everything just worked without having to configure anything.
The Prime is a significant step up from last year's $100 prepaid offering, the Neon. The on-screen keyboard works much better than the cramped little one on the Neon, and the build quality is just fine -- no rattles or squeaks or jimmies whatsoever. I picked one up at a B&M AT&T store yesterday for the aforementioned $100, but it came with a $50 account credit, effectively reducing the price of the phone to $50; I needed to add money to my account anyway, so it worked out well for me.
My single complaint thus far is the fact that the screen quality isn't as sharp as I'd like -- there's what you might call a slight mayonnaise effect on certain light-colored images. It's not enough to keeo me from liking and using the phone, but it is noticeable.
All in all, I like the Prime much better than the Rumor Touch, which I used for two days with Virgin and returned because of its mind-numbingly convoluted UI. The Prime's UI makes sense to me, and the hardware itself is certainly worth the price, even if you don't qualify for the $50 account credit.
Thankyou GravityFails for sharing with us! I am interested in this phone and the extra $50 credit sounds tempting. Hopefuly we see a video on the lg prime soon

Yeah the $25 dollar plan is perfect for me and the rumor touch looks really cool. The only problem I the reception for virgin sucks at my house :/ at&ts reception is better but their prepaid plans aren't as appealing or as cheap. I'm still deciding I want to know more about the prime. And the extra $50 credit makes it tempting
I decided to keep the touch for now.People are right when they say the ui is clunky because it is. Browsing is ok on it but trying to scroll in opera is not that great. The hello ui is pretty nice if you text alot. I cannot comment on the Prime but im guessing as other people say its more than likley just as good if not better than the touch. Also if you like to install third party apps dont get the touch as Virgin Mobile doesnt allow it.

I saw the prime at the at&t store today it was okay but i didnt like when i put the phone on silent and it got a text it still made a sound and how when i went to take a pic and it was on silent it made a sound as well. I didnt like either how CHARGING came up like every 2 seconds even if you are doing something. The phone can not play youtube videos. I also didnt like when i went to send a new text it went straight to the virtual qwerty without turning the phone and i had to press a button to get it to the virtual T9. The touch screen was okay but the samsung solstice has a way better one. I rate the phone 3 of 5 stars. I rather get the rumor touch myself though
Thus far the phone has performed admirably, with one crucial exception. And by "crucial" I mean pretty big.
It has the unfortunate tendency to, from time to time, split standard-length sent texts into two messages. By "standard-length" I mean under 160 characters.
I've investigated this issue by to make certain that it's the phone itself that has the problem and not, for instance, the message center or the network. It's definitely the phone, as not one of my other AT&T handsets using the same message center does it at all. I'm not even sure that the message center or the network could cause such a problem, but the frequency of occurrence and the fact that it's happened only on the Prime basically rules out the possibility of it being the fault of anything but the phone.
Just wanted to let everyone know that it isn't all wine and buttercups with the Prime, as I might have indicated earlier. I'll probably keep it (not even sure that I could return it, what with the $50 credit and all), but the honeymoon was over pretty quickly with this one.
So anyone for whom this would be a problem might want to investigate further -- to see if this is a model-wide issue, or if it's isolated to just my handset.

I sent like 5 long text messages (under 160 letters) with the display phone and it never split the messages into 2. When i go to the mall again i am going to play with this phone again. I think the headset jack looks like it could be easily pulled out of the phone by pulling on the audio cord too hard. The phone is just cheap in my opinion touch screen isnt the greatest either. For example the LG VU and Samsung Solsitce are better.
Tobruk42: yes, your contract SIM will work in any GoPhone. Buy the phone, pop in the SIM, and away you go.
Wam: yes, the Prime has both an FM radio and an MP3 player. I've not yet played with the MP3 player, but the radio works just fine. Even picks up some of the stronger stations around here without the headset plugged in.
I don't know if I'd recommend the Prime now as firmly as I did a few days ago; though I've yet to experience the divided text message issue again, it kind of sullied the experience for me. The touch screen is a bit finicky, as others have mentioned (though it's still better than the one on the Xenon), but I'm not going to complain too loudly. It is, for me, basically a $50 phone, and thus far it's performed as such. I've had worse phones that cost much more.
