How do you watch emailed videos on HTC Aria (android)?

    Hello,

I'm coming from an iphone and wanted to know when someone emails me a video, is there a way to watch it without having to download to the SD Card?

Also if it does have to be downloaded to the SD card, where in the world do you access it?

    Thanks

if the video does not play directly from the email, just save it to the sd card and use a file browser to open it. astro is the most popular best file browser, free on the market.
    Current Device: Nexus One
    Phone History: |N97 Mini| |5800| |E71-2| |N95-4| |N95-3| |N75| |6131| |6230| |SE T616|

Shouldn't the Aria handle the situation just like an iphone?

I was hoping the same thing. I had received a video email from someone with an iPhone. I had to download it to the sd card. Then I couldn't find it. Roger (the moderator here on HTC area) told me to install Astro app to use it to find it.

It found it but I don't know how to move it to my videos area in the Aria.

Was hoping there was something a little smoother......

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

i really dont know, i think its a bug. because on my nexus when i play an attachment from gmail it gives an error. but when i download to the sd card it plays fine.

you can move the video to another folder if that's what you mean. just long press the file and there are edit options etc.

i guess android doesnt have a video gallery like my nokia n97 did. i never thought about this. i'm not realyl sure where you would go to see all your videos other than using a file browser.

compared to the iphone, i dont know about smoothness. but everything on an android phone you just drag and drop from computer to the memory card, just a copy and paste. i believer there are really good syncing apps out there but i never used any.

I've never figured out anything short of downloading the video to watch it.

You can also just download one of the video players from the Market and it should find your video. I use one simply called video player. It works and it's free.
