Well $50 sounds just about rite. $70 is way too much compared to what Fido was offering for $80, and that plan included 6GB of data. I believe the voiceplan by itself was $50. This makes more sense.

I was offered the same thing last week with a $5 credit which wud come to $45, but since I don't really need unlimited local, I didn't even consider getting it. My plan costs me $35, then why the hell wud I want to pay $45 for something I don't need.

I still feel $70 is too much for "local".

It's worth a new thread for something like this.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.

While I would obviously agree, especially if it's a detailed plan thread like the Fido thread, that would be useful. However, the OP stated he didn't see any mention of this anywhere so that is why I linked him to the page where it all started. Not to mention this is not the first separate thread about this exact same plan to be posted in the Rogers forum, and the last one that got posted a week ago was merged into the retention thread pretty quickly. I guess it's really up to the mods, eh.
Phone 1: FIDO $56 unlimited Smart plan (LTE MAX)
Phone 2: WIND $40 unlimited Wish plan (HSPA+)
Laptop: WIND $15 AITF unlimited data (HSPA+)

So if I'm reading above correctly, there have been people who were offered this plan for $50??? I have 3 lines with Rogers, and spend ~$200/ month for all three...so I guess I'll have to call in and find out why I'm $20/month more

So I'm on the phone with the retentions rep right now, and apparently theres a $50 plan and a $70 plan for unlimited local.... and from what she can tell, theres no difference between the two, so she's trying to change it....We'll see how this goes

k just got off the phone.... she switched to the $50 plan successfully, and kept the previously added credits...So its got a Voicemail credit ($8) and a call waiting/forwarding credit ($3)....so I end up paying $50 + 2.58(GRRF) + tax = $59.42

That's a great plan for someone who uses a lot of minutes.

    I just switched to

I just called retentions and switched to the $50 unlimited local calling plan. Made me renew my contract for another 3 years (that's fine cause i was only 8 months into the latest renewal). Does not affect my upgrade eligibility for the new iPhone 4 as well.

This got rid of my sys access fee and switched me of $6.95 to the lower GRRF fee of $2.50.

All in all, good deal i think and I am happy (for now) ;p

Glad to know this thread helped some of u out there. Don't settle for $70 plan, the $50 I would say is well worth.

Funny I just called retentions about unlimited calling and I told them I was gonna port to Wind, the guy said they offer no unlimited calling plans and wished me luck with Wind. I spend $200+/month on two lines.

I just called retentions had it checked and double checked. Was told there is neither a 50 or 70 dollar plan, was told there is a 50 double your min that anyone would get but no retention plan

Call back, as you can see from my previous post the first call I made the gentleman wished me luck with Wind, I just called back and spoke to another rep who set me up with no rebutal at all, and since my credits are not compatible with the unlimited calling plan she transfered them to my other line. No more clock watching.
