It's about time Rogers started offering an unlimited calls plan, but I think $50 and $70 for the local and Canada-wide calling plans respectively are far, far too expensive, even for an off-contract offer! Add a three-year contract and I think you end up with a pretty rotten deal.

I'd urge people to hold out and, if possible, not resign a three-year contract to get this plan. I think the bill'll get real old, real fast in a few month's time when your friends are getting better deals from the new carriers.

Just my two cents! Rogers has got a killer network, but they also "kill" you with their plans - time to switch over and help a new carrier build their network if you're looking for unlimited calling, in my humble opinion.

^i think a ton of people would have switched if the new carriers used the same bands as the bug 3. I know I would have, even with there small local calling area.

iPhone is definitely killing the new guys, especially with #4 looking to kill sales records

    Well played mate...........
Just out of curiousity, ur monthly plan credits are not compatible with the Unlimited $50 plan.
So basically its straight out $50 + GRRF, and whatever add-ons u have, thats it.

Right, credits are not compatible with the unlimited plans. Or so I was told, but I think there may be truth to it since when I asked her to transfer the credits to my other line there was resistance just a "ya, sure I can do that".

I never asked but now am curious what the difference is between the $50 unlimited and the $70 unlimited? Anyone know?

"or so I was told"..... customers are always being told that the plans don't exist....

I can tell you that credits are compatible, at least billing system wise but I think they're told not to offer much in terms of those credits for customers who choose to take advantage of the unlimited offerings. I do have have monthly plan credits on my account. Add-on credits also do happen on this plan.

As with all retention dealings, your miliage will vary (greatly).

    I know...$20!

Seriously now, what about CID, VM, TXT. Are those included? If I also wanted UMB, then that would mean adding the $20 VP on top. Total $70 + GRRF + taxes would not be cheap. Yes, unlimited minutes is cool, but I'm curious as to what % of people actually go over even 1,000 minutes a month. I might have gone over 500 minutes maybe once.

It seems like a lot of ppl are getting the $50 unlimited calling which is awesome. but they need to do something about the additional charge for caller ID, VM and Text.

Its safe to assume that these plans are offered to customers that live in areas where there are new Entrants, such as WIND and Public Mobile. Basically, someone such as myself, living in Halifax, wouldn't be able to get such plans since there are no new entrants?

Like I had mentioned in my previous post, I was offered this plan a week ago for $50 minus $5 credit, so $45 all in + GRRF. So whatever ur monthly credits were say example $20, u can't get the same, but I believe u cud get a $5 credit.

The only difference I can think of between the $50 and the $70 is probably the $50 plan being unlimited local, and the $70 plan being Canada wide. I never heard about the $70 plan until this thread, because again I find that alot for just "local".

But seriously, if i was to get this plan, my bill wud blow from $35 with all the extras, to probably $70+, with all the add-ons, so I just stayed with my plan without making any changes. But I guess it makes sense for those who use the phone alot I guess.

So whats ur bill now compare to before, and how much are u paying more after losing ur credits. I know u mentioned that she transferred them to ur other line.
Or are u getting more for less.............

Too bad the government did not let that happen. New entrants were only allowed to bid on 1700AWS spectrum.

It works out to be $15 more for unlimited local vs. 250 minutes since I no longer needed unlim incoming, R2R or 6PM early evenings the credits I had for those carried over to my other line. I'm happy.
