I don't believe that it's the government letting it happen or not letting it happen. The spectrum is limited and those bands are already "owned" by the Big 3. The only way that a new entrant can get the "older" spectrum is to lease it from the Big 3 or for the Big 3 to sell it.

My Wireless LD FAQ., READ IT!!!
The Jawbone I, photo-review
both are unlimited local calling...with $70.00 u get unlimted text with $50 u dont
Hmmm...conflicting reports.
So the $70 does NOT include NATIONAL 24/7. Only unlim text? Seems crazy when retentions offers unlim text for $10. So if that's all the plan is, get the $50 and add the $10. Unless they upped the cost to $20 already??
Who would go for a $20 difference for unlimited text? Can't be right.
Live Strong is a mod, he responded rather than merge the thread (without mention of the other threads), I guess everything is OK there.
Unless this plan includes unlimited LD, I would say $70 is high, even for Canada (it is better than $500+). Unless you live in a metropolis such as Ottawa or Toronto, most calls are long-distance anyway. Here in the states LD has been included with cell plans for about 7-8 years now as a matter of course, I think it is time Canada went the same way. Heck, my current plan in the US even has free calls to all Canadian numbers from the US. Last I knew Latitude was charging almost $100 for that option!
$70 is the old plan price..if u really give them hell then they reduce it to $50.00 unless u get a good rep from the get go..if u check the first post in this thread that guy was offered unlimited local calling for 70..i was offered that too but then i called again and i got it now for the 50 dollars unlimited..they try to give it for 70 unless u rebuttal them...there is no diffrence except unlimited text msg and i fought for the retentions value pack and got that so now i have
50 unlimited calling
30 6gb data
5 1000 ld min
10 retentions value pack with 2500 text msg sent unlimited incoming
Acecontender, has written the post like it was not something that was credited-but simply the plan offered. Others have also posted as though the $50 plan is a different plan entirely. Othewise why would the person say the 'rep was trying to find out what the difference was between the two plans and after discovering there was none-gave me the $50 one'. Obviously the rep is mis-informed-as there has to be a difference, as subtle as it may be...but the point is-there appear to be two different plans.
