Don't know why it is so hard to just get CID covered as part of the package. I remember when it used to be free, but then we carried around bricks for phone too.

Anyway they will put on the $10 retentions value pack so I can get VM and CID and then apply a $10 data plan credit which was going to cover a credit I was going to lose.

So end bill will be for $50 voice plan and $40 3Gb data plan. I guess there isn't a way around making CID work without the feature?

I remember a couple of my old Palm phones used to be able to match names to numbers in my phone book without CID. Silly that an iPhone can't do the same.

Call Display with Name display with show the name. If it is in your address book, it will show that name, if not it will show the name included in the CiD tags. iPhone OS 3.0 had a problem with carrier provide Name Display (I think because AT&T does not offer Name Display, so when the 3G came out as the first iPhone for other carriers, it didn't include it properly). All modern Rogers add-on, plans and options that have CiD will be Call Display with Name Display. Older versions (I think you can still specifically request just Call Display, but it is the same price) were just the phone number. If you do happen to add on just Call Display, the iPhone will show the name if it is in your address book.

Remember, if you have plain VM added to your plan, CCF might not work properly. If you have VVM added, it will apparently work.
Unlocked iPhone 5, unlocked iPhone 4
Unlimited airtime, Unlimited CAN/US long distance, Unlimited SMS to CAN/US wireless numbers
2500 Call Forwarding minutes to CAN/US numbers
    CiD, 6GB
Google Voice for visual voice mail with message transcription, conditional greetings, unlimited messages (vs 35 message cap), remote retrieval from any PC or phone, no auto-purge after 10 days and most importantly no $7-$8 charge.

Isn't EVM part of the retentions package?

    And what is CCF?

    Cxxxxxx Call Forwarding?

    CCF = conditional call forwarding.

It is part of the retention VP but it can be disabled by Rogers.

    - $10 Retention Value Pack - Free (2500 texts, CID, VM)

    - $67 + tax

Conditional Call Forwarding, meaning busy, unanswered and unreachable, as opposed to just forward all calls (unconditional). Yes, I think EVM is in the retentions VP. Not sure if it is incompatible with CCF or not. If you were still considering using GV for your VM, then you'll have to sort that out.

im really confused cause i havent called rogers for the past month so im just wondering if anyone can explain this phenomenon
so i think i know why i have a new MFD that was entered on the 17th of Nov. A month ago, i noticed my plan wasnt being honored so a rep had to manually fix and i guess it kicked into the system on that date as he had set it....hopefully my bill comes out fine as i looked at my new balance on the website and it does look like it

If the user wishes to use GV for their VM, and they currently have a VP with EVM, and they want to keep that VP, simple have CS "exclude" the feature from the VP.

Well I got the $10 retentions VP to get the EVM and CID, couldn't negotiate a discount for the txt's which I will never use.

Only data option was the $40 3Gb plan and wait to see if the $30 6Gb comes out in the future and see if I can get a couple of more $5 credits.

Haven't been following this thread for a while, but just to report back on the "missing credits" case that I posted a while ago. My new bill came this month and surprisingly the missing credits came back after a month of hiatus after I "politely" called in to enquire about them and was told that the "internal revenue control" department has removed them.

I was going to complaint all the way to the OoP but it seems they are back to honoring the original agreement that got me agree to the new 3-year extension. Let's hope they keep this promise next month. Will report back as usual.

Can I keep 6gb Data for $30, seeking clear answer

Hey guys, I feel the retentions rep is feeding me some bullcrap. I want to change over my plan from my old $25 my 10 local student plan to this new $50 unlimited Can/US. Now when I mentioned I want to keep my 6gb data for $30 he said its a no can do because rogers doesnt offer this 6gb for $30 anymore. I know this 6gb offer was cancelled maybe a few weeks/months ago, but since being cancelled has anyone been succesful in retaining their 6gb data?

Also I want to keep my $15 iphone Value pack with $5 credit = $10 and he is saying that is not possible either.

Basically he is saying if I want this $50 unlimited plan, they have to " wipe my account clean of all credits and existing voice/data plans "

Bull crap, you can keep all of your discounts and data plan. I have the $50.00 plan x 2 and both with 6 GB of data and both with signifigant discounts applied on the accounts. Both have the communication package, data and voice plan and both come in under $70.00 taxs in.

He is full of crap about having to give up your data plan. I am not sure why he would even say that, it seems malicious and spiteful. But he might be right about the credits, at least it is within his authority to wipe the existing credits. Lots of people were told they had to have their existing credits reduced or removed to switch to these plans, but others were able to keep or increase there credits. It depends on the rep, but in the last month they are getting more strict. Wait a couple days and try again.
