I am a little confused, a few months ago I noticed that the plan detail on the web site for my $50.00 N/A plan included MMS AND VIDEO MESSEGING. Today I noticed it has change to just unlimited text messeging and some stuff for one number added on. The best Rogers CSR could do was to suggest sending a few mms and see if I am charged. Does anyone know if MMS is included on that plan?

I have had the same $50 N/A plan as you have since the middle of last year and I have never understood it to include MMS. Since I do occasionally - perhaps once a month - send an MMS - I have always seen that charged.

I used to be charged for them and then a few months ago the charges stopped. I haven't sent any this billing cicle to see if I get charged.

If you saw that you had Unlimited Picture and Video Messaging (or something like that), it was probably a Rogers One Number feature and not on your phone. The RON unlimited options originally didn't say anything about RON, just "Unlimited Canada Wide Calling", "Unlimited Picture and Video Messaging" under included in your plan.

The $50 N/A plan has never had MMS, only txt.

Thanks. That explains the changes. I checked back and I wasn't charged for the pictures I sent because the receiver was on iMessage.

I am very aware that retentions is much tougher these days. I am attaching a snapshot of my bill but I should add that my total bill is roughly $10 higher due to overseas calling charges.

I am *thinking* of upgrading my phone shortly and in order to get a "subsidized" price (plus, of course the early hardware upgrade fee) I will be required to sign another 3 year contract. I have not contacted customer relations/retentions in over a year and I don't want to necessarily phone them now until my plans are firmer. The less calls the better.

Would anybody have a vague idea how much of my credits I would possibly be able to retain? Would Rogers retentions possibly be more flexible with the release in September/October of the new iPhone (my contract expires roughly August 2013)?

Can someone tell me if this plan is expired

I dont need the plan anymore and Im hoping someone else might want it bad enough to take over my account without the phone.

From what I have read here if the plan is expired the new person may or may not be able to keep the plan depending on who they talk to.

How does that process work? Will the person trying to take over the plan be advised before hand and have the option to not take over the account?

Pretty sure you can still TOR an account with deals that are no longer available. It shouldn't affect the transfer.

You're gonna authorize say 'joe schmo' to accept a transfer of responsibility (TOR).

JS then calls in, quotes your account and says "I accept the TOR".

Rep verifies credit check is met, and processes it.

There will be no surprises. If the system magically doesn't permit the tor, the rep will be notified (thru pop-up or what not) and will relay the info to JS. At that point JS can accept a PPC to an in-market plan or otherwise, OR walk away.

So you have the $35 unlim local talk & text + $6gb with the iphone VVP? 35(-$5'ish?)+30(-$5'ish?)+12.79? It's not bad at all I'm sure someone will tor it for free quickly enough, phone or not. Depending on when you got a hup, I would be you could even sell it.

thanks for the information. below is the billing details. Its a $50 plan plus the data so its not a super great plan but if someone needed a huge plan it will work.

Oops, I saw 82.79 or whatever up there and thought that was the total.

$50 is the unlim NA calling plan thenisn't it? How did you never manage to get at least $10 off the plan and $10 off the data all this time? I'm saying at least because in the heyday, $20 off the voice $10 off data and half if not fully crediting the vvm vp was quite possible. Up till a few months ago Rogers was even offering a lifetime 50%off bonus on any VP, Retentions or regular in fact.

It certainly is a mother of all plans hehe, with a great potential for discounting as well. I'm sure you can TOR it out for free promptly.

    Best of luck!
