Holy smokes, I ran a speed test using the speedtest.net app and got a whopping:
5279kbps down
1257kbps up
I'm on AT&T
I've never seen even half those speeds on the iPhone 3GS.
Please post your speed tests results. You don't have to include a screen shot.
Make sure you post what app or site you used for your test. Use the speedtest.net app if you can.
Include what network you're on (don't assume everyone is on AT&T.)
Include your iPhone 3GS results for comparison if you have them.
They just turned on 3G in my area last week. With my iPhone 3G I am only gettin 1200kbps down and 240kbps up.
I get my iPhone 4 tomarrow, I'll be interested to see if it's any faster... (It shouln't be though right? Download speed is download speed reguardless of the device's internet speed!?)
I did notice that while 3G's speeds are faster, that the ping responce time is over 2x more with 3G than it is on Edge (Weird!)
So I guess iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are both 7.2 HSDPA and should get the same speeds?
It must be coincidence that I suddenly started seeing faster speeds. Admittedly I haven't run a speed test in a few weeks so they may have just turned on 7.2 around here.
The HSUPA on the iPhone 4 does make a big difference, though. That's a welcome change.

Sure enough. I Speed tested my iPhone 4 and I got 1522kbps down and 1274kbps up! MUCH faster than with my iPhone 3G & the ping responce time was alot less also..
