I'm just about to buy the Vibrant and get onto wind mobile from Koodos, and I'm wondering if the folks whos using the vibrant on wind are having any problems? I'm more concerned about the calls(drops or annoying noises), data and signals. BTW, I'm in BC vancouver.

I'm still unable to connect to WIND Home on my vibrant. I even drove to an area where I know WIND has full bars but the only network that shows when doing a scan is WIND Away. I tried my cousin's sim in my phone and same problem. I tried my sim in his phone (HD2) and it works fine. I tried a Fido sim and it works on Fido's 2G network. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

@mugenspike: Once I get it up and running I'll be able to report on how it is in the Vancouver area.

edit: Factory reset did not work either.

Hey guys, I too like darkapocalypse4 cannot connect to home. At first it was on wind away and then i got it connected for a hour and ever since then it has been on away. My huawei has full bars but my vibrant wont connect to home. Would this have anything to do with the code? And for certain the vibrant is compatible right?

Here's a fix that worked for me. It's not an ideal fix because you won't be able to connect to WIND Away if you need to (like when you're outside the Home zone) unless you change the settings back. Disclaimer: Proceed at your own risk.

Go to the dialpad and dial *#*#197328640#*#*
Select DEBUG SCREEN > PHONE CONTROL > NETWORK CONTROL > BAND SELECTION > WCDMA BAND
Select WCDMA 1700 (FDD IV) and select WCDMA_W1700 ONLY
It should have a star beside it. Exit out and it should connect to WIND Home.

It won't be able to connect to WIND Away because 850/1900 bands are off. You can revert the settings by selecting AUTOMATIC on the BAND SELECTION screen if you need to. Turning the phone off/on seemed to keep my settings how they were.

However, this isn't the fix I'm looking for since I do want to be able to roam on WIND Away when I need to without having to change these settings. I will use this for now but if anyone knows what can be done to fix this problem properly, please help!

Side note: When I turn on the 850 band and 1700 band together it auto connects to WIND Away (850) and when I do a network scan it actually shows both WIND Home and WIND Away. But if I select WIND Home at this point, it says Your sim card does not allow connection to this network.

This is a helpful fix. If you go in a away zone does the phone just show no service? Also do you know if this will affect data? If i find out anything i will post.

How did you select both 850 and 1700 bands anyways?

Yes I believe it will show no service in an Away zone. 3G data from WIND is working fine for me using this method.

I selected both 850 and 1700 bands by selecting COMBI BANDS under the BAND SELECTION menu. I tried lots of things since my last post in order to try and get both AWAY and HOME to work correctly but nothing worked so far. Using the SIM TOOLKIT app didn't work either.

I wonder whether the network location has anything to do with this. I'm in Toronto and had no problem so far. Only thing I had to do is to manually add APN to get the data working.

I thought Wind say they don't have coverage in Surrey yet? How did you guys get Wind Home with your old phone? I'm in Vancouver. Still haven't gotten my unlock code from unlockadic yet. I'll let you guys know if I get Wind Home or not.

Surrey isnt technically covered but a majority of it is. I get full bars in most places. The towers are active.
