Maybe try changing your phone to to 2G only and wait a few hours and see if that fixes it. I heard some people were having reception problem and some guy said change network to 2G only.

I live in Edmonton but my area isn't shown to have Wind home coverage. But I have been on Wind Mobile for 3 months with no issue. Infact I have my Nokia 5230 setup to only work in a Home zone. So the fix for the Vibrant is a no biggie for me.

I wonder if anyone's trying to register Vibrant with Samsung? Samsung.ca does not have a model T959 to choose and Samsung.com does require a zip code to register. I wonder if the Bell's version of Vibrant has a same model number.

Got my Samsung Vibrant today. Unlock code worked perfectly without issues. I followed the hack posted a in a previous post to fix the issue with the device not picking up Wind Home. IMO it seems a bit buggy that we even have to perform a hack to get it to work correctly. Overall its a nice smart phone. Reminds me of my Nexus one I sold not too long ago. Each device has its pros and cons of course.

So overall, if one was to compare the nexus one to the galaxy s, which one would be better?
I'm about to jump onto the android band wagon and looking for a high end device.

Is there anything the Nexus One does better outside being the official Google phone and thus getting updates quicker? The Samsung just seems better in every way as far as hardware goes.

It's really subjective as to which device is better. The differences are minor in hardware and software between the two. Such as the Nexus has LED flash while the Vibrant doesn't. Another difference is the vibrant has a 4" Super Amoled vs 3.7" Amoled display on the Nexus. IMO this depends on your own preference and needs. This is given both devices are available to purchase. Since Google no longer sells the Nexus one it may be hard to purchase at a reasonable price.

If you look up the Vibrant's night mode, it's amazing. Here's a comparison with flash http://www.tmonews.com/2010/07/is-th...ment-to-flash/

The Wind network is 3G only so there should be no issues with using 3G data if that's what you were asking. You would have to enter in the APN before connecting to data.

If it's not getting on Wind 3G you can also lock the phone on 1700/AWS ONLY. Because this phone includes 1900PCS 3G, it might want to roam on one of the larger networks on automatic band selection.

Good point. The fix was posted a couple pages ago in this thread. I had to do this hack to get my phone to pick up Wind home. I'm currently looking for a alternative solution since its a pain in the butt to go into the service menu to undo it every time I need to roam.

Just unlocked my Vibrant and it says Wind Away! Man, this sucks. Have to do that hack. Like the guy above me said, it's a pain in the butt to have to undo it every time I need to roam. I am in Vancouver city.

Hey what did you guys change in the APN settings for the data to work. Just add internet.windmobile.ca?
