Samsung I9000 Galaxy S Unboxing Pictures & Review

The newly launched SAMSUNG GALAXY S with the latest Android platform and Super AMOLED Brilliant Full Touch screen is writing a new page of its smartphone legend. Together with its counterpart, Wave S8500, GALAXY S demonstrates SAMSUNG’s cutting-edges technology in a flushed design for a smooth connection performance and a stunning visual experience.

Uncovering the box, we find the Galaxy S phone, a battery, a charger, a handsfree and a user’s guide.

"The 4 inches Super AMOLED brilliant Full Touch screen allows you to zoom in and out with full touch and multi touch. The phone is made of tempered-glass with a smudge-resistant display.
Here comes the application interface. It is so convenient to use the Google Search taskbar on the menu page. Apart from the preloaded applications, there are 50,000 applications available from the Android Market. "

On top of the phone, you can find the standard 3.5mm audio jack and the micro-USB port with a sliding cover.

Carefully crafted with a sleek design, Galaxy S is an ultra slim smartphone with just 9.9mm thick and 118g, which is much lighter than iPhone 3GS (12.3mm and 135g). You can find the power toggle on the right edge.

Removing the battery cover, you can insert your SIM card and memory card. The smartphone has 16GB built-in memory and support up to 32GB microSD external memory which will be more than enough for heavy users. With 1500mAh battery capacity, the phone power will not be easily exhausted.

There is a fixed dock with four shortcuts to Phone, Contacts, Messaging and Home. You can customize the home screen with widgets and shortcuts. Preloaded with Google mobile applications, Galaxy S offers you quick access to Google service such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google maps and Picas by synchronizing your account information with the phone. If you love reading, Aldiko eBook brings you convenient reading experience.

Below the touchscreen, you can find three buttons including two touch sensitive keys—“menu” and “back”, and one physical “home” button. On the top right corner, there is a secondary camera. By using the mini-diary function, you can simply write your diary with attached photos and weather details.

Compared to input systems used in previous models, Galaxy S offers you more options for fast texting. The brand new Swype text input method enhances your typing speed by 1.5 times of standard type speed! Virtual Qwerty keyboard and hand writing recognition are also available.

With the 2.1 update 1 firmware version and ECLAIR build number, Galaxy S is optimizing users’ smartphone experience.

In short, if you are looking for a high-end smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S will be one of your choices with its enhanced super ALMOLED screen and a brand new 1GHz processor. For display performance, Galaxy S is similar to Samsung Wave but it lacks a flash light for photo taking. Its size is similar to HTC HD2 but lighter and thinner than iPhone 3GS. With its 16GB built-in memory, Galaxy S is designed for heavy multimedia users. After all, Samsung is offering the best for Galaxy S.

This looks like a Beastly phone, but i just don't understand why they left off the flash for the camera.. I mean unless it magically takes good pics in low light conditions, then this makes it an automatic NO for me... And the only thing i really don't like besides that is that it has touchwiz over it and they made the UI look too much like the iphone, but I could live with that. But no LED Flash kills it for me
