The point being is only give them needed information, be polite and respectful and don't make small talk. If they wont activate it, thank them and call back.

Bull! I have had a Treo and a R2 auto program/provision and they were both used sprint phones so obviously your misinformed.

No need for the backstory and the transparent lies. They don't care where/why you got it, they just want to do they're job. Your whole fake life story telling is pointless. CSR's can't tell your cdma phone is used anyway, thats just another unnecessary detail.

Some Phones (used or new) simply won't auto program and reps know that, so they will ask you if it did, to which you reply no, and follow the steps.

And btw I have never been in a situation in my life where I was better off lying about something, except maybe the old "does this make me look fat" lol.
Actually, they can see if an ESN or MEID is used. Once they put in the numbers they can view past account numbers for Sprint, Virgin and Boost.
Also, the only way to provision a used phone is by doing a factory restore. Not all phones can do this, and it is always good to get the MSL+MSID from the CSR.

I've swapped well over 350 phones for people now and I have a specific formula that works, and works well. The only phones that have difficulty being swapped are ones that have an MEID starting with 2701131. Most Boost reps who are trained to know the MEIDs for Boost phones pick up on this instantly. Others just don't care and will let you know Sprint phone's may/may not work and they offer no support.

Also, almost every rep I've dealt with I tell them it's a used phone and instantly get the MSL+MSID, or if it's an 11 digit ESN I tell them it's a KRZR and they automatically give me the MSL+MSID. If I don't tell them, they always tell me to let it sit and wait for provisioning. Why mess with the hassle? My calls last no more than 4 minutes when I do have to call them in and I enjoy not having to go through all the BS of trying and hoping.

Oh, Well turns out I was the uninformed one, I was under the impression that they could only see that on the Iden Side during activation. My apologies.

Thats what I prefer as well. Just a quick call, <10 mins and I haven't had trouble moving in any phones as of yet but I'm till around the 20 mark for activations lol, not 300+... So I am sure that day will come ;-D

But Even on the 2 used phones that did auto provision, I still ask for the MSID/MSL just in case- per your advice when I started here. (Thanks Btw)
Left Virgin for Helio and all it had to offer... Only to get "acquired" back to virgin again... slowly loosing everything I switched for. Then came a light at the end of the tunnel when we got "acquired" yet again by sprint... sadly they brought us nothing and took from us everything, so as the ship sank I stayed aboard and then on the 23rd I quickly ported over to boost... and I'm the happiest I've ever been.

RIP HELIO... you were set-up to fail but it was fun while it lasted.

You're not trying to make new friends when you're calling Boost Mobile, you're there to get what you want and they're there to do their job.

I've said it before, I too have a method (and so far 100% success rate on over 75 activations) that just seems to get quicker and quicker each time. I get what I need and I'm off the phone and all of it takes less then five minutes on the phone and I have the MSL and MSID everytime.

J/w if activating a samsung instint is still a 50/50 possibility.

Every phone is really a 50/50 gamble.

The Instinct as well as most Samsung phones are just more painful than others. In our (my shop) experience, the Instinct has a very low success rate, but it's always possible you have one that will work.

Thanks. I saw some on ebay and didn't wanna purchase one if it was a big possibilty it wouldn't work. Another thing I'm wondering is if there are multiple phone phone swaps on an acct w/ sprint phones are they more likely to terminate your acct.

J/w is it hard to try an activate a phone on boost that doesn't have a esn/meid that starts w/ 268 or 270. I've seen some phones on ebay where the esns are starting with 054 or something along those lines.

ESNs are 11 digits, so it's normal.

MEIDs are 18 digits. There are only three sets of MEIDs that I've seen for Sprint so far, ones that start with 268, 270, and one other one you see on Intrepids.

Thanks for the response. Is it harder to get those esns activated on boost? I know I had to go thru a number of reps to activate a touch pro that started with 270

It's more difficult to do ESNs that start with 270 than anything.

The next hardest are ESNs that go have the first 10 numbers as 2684354588.......

When flashing a phone to boost do i need to load the prl for boost? The reason i am asking, is that boost only has prl for non-evdo phones. And i am trying to flash a sprint blackberry curve 8530.
