No Sprint branded Android phone can be officially activated on Boost. The way it is being done anyway is by making Boost believe the phone is one of the phones that are allowed, by altering the MEID (the electronic serial number). The process is both legally questionable (as in "I'm not a lawyer, so don't get yourself in trouble") and can't be explained on this forum in a how-to fashion, without violating the rules.

That's why the short answer here, is "no".

Have 9630 on Boost, have never had success subscribing to any podcast/rss feed out there because of service books, is there anything out there that will allow me to stream a podcast to the 9630? thx

Boost apparently can't activate a Sprint Innuendo. I just had the tech guy tell me that the only way to get it to work was to have it flashed. If he's wrong, please let me know! I tried calling many, many times to customer service, and talked to two different tech guys as well.

    (My details:

I currently have an older Boost iDEN on an active account, bought a used Sprint Innuendo (CDMA) off ebay with the internet's reassurances that you can use any phone for any network with a little effort, and now it doesn't work. The only reason I got a new phone to begin with is because they upgraded the towers so now they don't fully recognize the old sim cards, so my texting doesn't work.)

You might want to consider an attitude change if you expect help here.

    Smart phone help

    Greetings everyone,

I am new here, however I need help.

I currently have a Sprint samsung android phone that I have been wanted to move to my Boost mobile account. (I currently have a Boost Motorola W385). I have checked my phone's (the Sprint Android) ESN number and it is a clean number.

According to the previous posts, it indicates that I must "borrow" an ESN number in order to initiate the migration process. There was a thread in this forum previously dedicated to people who wish to "borrow" an ESN, but that thread is closed now and I cannot reply to it. I have been reading the posts in the previous pages, but since I am new to all this, I would like someone to specifically explain to me exactly how everything works and exactly what I am supposed to do.

    1. How should I now "borrow" an ESN number?

    2. How can I properly set up my boost mobile service to work on my Android?

Any help directed to this reply would be greatly appreciated.

The method in this thread is for older, non-Android Sprint phones. Android phones required MEID altering (changing the phone's electronic serial number to that of a "donor" Boost phone - similar to cloning), with all the legal and technical caveats that go along with it.

The short answer is you'll have a rather difficult time finding a complete, accurate how-to simply because the legality of the process is highly suspect. If you pay someone to "flash your Android phone to Boost", they're doing the exact same legally questionable process.

Just thought I would throw this out: my daughter has Sprint Sero (post paid) and her phone died, so I had a Sanyo Juno that was previously on Boost. I called in and it took about a minute to activate with all features working. Just read the MEID number to the c/s rep and then enter the phone and voice mail number..quick and easy.

I enjoyed my TP2 on Android but now it's time for me to upgrade so this week I will be getting a Boost Mobile ZTE Warp. I want to say thanks for all of this information and a good experience I've had with my old TP2. It is time to ween away from the keypad and with a full touch screen. I am also unsubscribing myself from this thread. Take care everyone and God bless!

Um, new here, and as suggested in a different thread dealing with the same topic, i have done a ´thread search´for my phone to find an answer and have not found it, so i used an ESN from the ´borrow..´thread i have boost service now, have called about 4 times today to get my Sprint Samsung Intercept swapped in to the Boost account, no luck... anybody have any suggestions to how I can get it swapped in? Thanks in advance

p.s. i did the ESN checker for my intercept and it is clean, just thought id add that in.
