I have a Sprint PPC 6700 that I would love to migrate to my current IDEN Boost account. I have been told the numbers were good they could put it on, but during the process they asked me to put in some numbers and when I did, it did not give the results they expected. I was told to buy a boost phone and call back. What were the numbers for as I did not ask. Can this phone be used on Boost?
no I have a current account using a iden sim card with boost. I would like to use this HTC PPC 6700, but then again, I don't know how! What are the MDN and MSID numbers for? what do I need to do to ?
No, you have to specifically request "I'd like to migrate from iDen to CDMA."
I would suspect that when they pull up your account, it's already "set" to one or the other. So if it's a CDMA phone and your account is set for iDen, the CDMA would show up as not usuable.
Though I don't work at Boost You need to request a "migration" in any case.
I'd say 60% of the time if you say you want to do a "migration"... they think you mean from Sprint to Boost, because that's not actually a port... it's an account migration. It's the same method they use to go from Nextel to Sprint, or Nextel to Boost, or Boost IDEN to Boost CDMA.
It's best to just say "migrate from IDEN to CDMA".
what do I need to do to the phone to make it work? last time the numbers they told me to put in did nothing and they told me to buy a new phone and call them back.
There isn't anything to do to the phone.. just make sure it has the original/stock Sprint ROM, and has a clean ESN.
Odds are you had a rep who knew it was a Sprint phone and didn't want you to use it so they gave you the wrong info. Also, don't tell them it isn't working... call back and see if you get different info from another rep.
OKAY! I hit the jackpot! found a gal who hooked the phone up! A sprint PPC-6700 code to get in to it is ##3282# The the device asked for a pin to enter. #333470 got me to the edit page. I then went to advanced tab and it took me to where I could edit alot of stuff. she had me change my phone number to some odd number and I now have only phone!
what do I need to do to get MMS and internet. it tells me I have data error code 76 registration failure, when I attempt to get on the internet
I could not live with just phone alone with no text, web or emails. so I just went out and spent the money for a motorola i1 with boost. Thank you for all your help!
If you would have taken the time to actually read this thread, it spells out EVERYTHING you need to do. You obviously were very impatient, or did not read the instructions.
I am happy you were able to get a phone such as the i1, but I hope you understand that you will have data speeds no faster than 20-30 kbps. That is almost 100x slower than Boost CDMA (rev A).
your correct! I read this online and understood the i1 service was a joke! So went with the CDMA Boost Blackberry 8530 instead. It's 60.00 a month instead of the 50.00 ) I also have a 8350i (iden) that is bricked I think. The radio will not come back to life no matter what. Master reset, reload the software, radio reset, nothing seems to get the radio back on. I have read in other fourms where those are famous for a hardware issure. This is why I just shelled out the cash ! I got faster speeds using the CDMA sprint network instead of the IDEN/Nextel. Do I need to be corrected on any of this? Please school me if I am living a fantacy.
