Samsung Vibrant or Google Nexus 1?

Which handset would you choose if you were to get a new phone and a new line?

Man that's tough. I probably get the Vibrant even though I don't like Samsung all that much and the Vibrant doesn't have camera flash.

This is my very first Android phone and it's one of my favorite along with N900 and HD2.

Go with the Nexus One. Samsung will very likely find a way to not provide appropriate support for the Vibrant, as they do with almost all of their smartphones. Since the N1 is made by HTC, you can be sure that even if Google/HTC decide not to provide a given OS update/upgrade, xda-developers will.

N1. Samsung is a master at ruining great hardware with awful software overlays.

The Vibrant will likely only be a great phone once it is fully rooted with an alternative ROM to flash onto it. And who know how long that will take.

Samsung Vibrant. I hate flashing custom roms with a passion, there are always only one or 2 that have worth. TouchWiz looks great - I'm more interested in the multimedia capabilities Samsung is bringing to the table.

Even on my CLIQ there are probably only 3 or 4 roms out, and only 1 of them is good enough for a replacement over stock.
LTE has arrived. The third carrier in Las Vegas with 10x10 LTE coverage

Coverage will expand to 100 million LTE pops for the first half of 2013, with the second half of 2013 expanding to 200 million POPs covered. Release 10 LTE (2×10, 2×20) will be better performing than all other competitors.
T-Mobile USA. “This year, we’re stepping on the gas again. We are making continued coverage improvements and launching an advanced LTE network

Samsung Vibrant. The fact that this phone is being sold on every US carrier means that it WILL have a long life ahead of it. Whether that means future support comes from the community in rooted roms or from Samsung itself. Remember, as long as a single US carrier (i'm looking at you, VZW) demands updates, all GalaxyS owners will benefit.

Nexus One. Being that its a developer's phone and will get all the official Google updates first. I don't trust Samsung.

Nexus one. I think Samsung builds are so-so and support is lacking. Vanilla Android on the N1 is better than Touch wiz garbage. Plus, the next version of Android is rumored to get a UI polishing. Touch wiz looks boring and may never see the update.

Better? Meh. There's already a froyo rom for the Galaxy S: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAqZ5Hk96QY
And no amount of software is going to make the N1 a better physical device than the Galaxy S. 16GB onboard memory. Better screen. Better processor. Much better graphics capabilities. Better battery life.

There's no denying that the GalaxyS is a better phone in every way. The only question is the longevity of Samsung support. And frankly, considering how many carriers are getting this device, I will bet that they'll be supporting this device for 2 years - unlike the original Galaxy (which was Sammy's half-hearted first attempt at Android).

    Hope this will happen.
Behold II fiasco destroyed the phone. Too bad it's not HTC product which can get vast support from xda-developers.
In addition, will T-Mobile allow mifi function exist in 2.2 Vibrant? It's pretty likely.
