    HTC, Andorid, patents, and ms?

Has there been any analysis breaking down why HTC is doing this? Responses from Google? ? ?

I've reviewed many articles online and none every spell out what was licensed and why ms thinks (wrongly, you can stop the reply now.....LINUX ZEALOT we don't need no stinking winslease!) that it has any reason to license this?

In doing our due diligence on using HTC products ie: HTC Droid Incredible on VZW we have hit a major snag as this license deal prevents us from doing business with HTC.

Any further breakdown on this deal? Any chance its going to court to tell ms to shove off ?

Basically this deal means we can't use HTC products....The whole point of Android is it matches our Linux roots. Just like the deal Novel made with the antichrist we can't use Novel, SLES, or OpenSuse.

    Any further background on this ? ? ? ? Any one? ?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure what the issue is?

HTC has been in a legal battle with Apple for a while and is getting help from MS and Google.

It is not unusual for large tech companies to license tech from other companies.

Why would it prevent you from using HTC products?

BTW... google has licensed technology from MS also.

My guess is Apple did also (back when MS invested in Apple to keep it afloat)

You're gonna run out of options if you have to have a phone where it's hardware/software does not have any patents from MS, IBM ect.

ms is getting a cut from HTC on each Android phone sold. DEAL BREAKER.

I am not paying ms one red cent for anything.

I don't see this as helping HTC in its lawsuit with crapple, another firm we do not deal with, talk about draconian, makes me look like a saint in comparison.

The issue is ms we don't deal with ms, and we certainly are not going to help ms by having part of the purchase price of a phone go to ms!

It looks like MS gets a cut from Google also.

That means no Android phone for you.
