I've been doing some research on this phone. I was all about the TELUS Desire previously, but the more I see of this, the more I'm impressed.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how well (or not) the wireless tethering works on this? It shows in the specs as a feature. If you got this phone, would you still think the $10 add-on to share data with your iPad would be worth it, or would the wireless tether be sufficient?
Hey everybody. Was just at a Best Buy today and they actually had a working model of the phone, but sadly it wasn't connected to Bell's network or Wifi. Apparently the price outright is $499. (Picture Below)
It also stated that 1 Year Contract price was around ~$350 and 2 Years would be around ~$250, although it didn't state the 3 year price.

Nice. Was it available for sale, or just on display for now?
Anyone know if this phone can be 100% unlocked? Haven't had any experiences with Bell, so not sure about their smartphones.
It would be able to be unlocked, though it may take a bit to figure out (if the Omnia II is any indication).

The BIG QUESTION for me, as far as Bell's Vibrant goes, is it tri-band HSDPA? Does it have the European 2100 band, or did Bell cripple it to only 850 and 1900?
I was at the Best Buy a couple of blocks from me today and they had a live demo unit of the Vibrant. I got to play with it for a good 5-10 minutes.
All the reservations I had about the build and esthetics of the phone were put to rest; this is one beautiful piece of hardware. From looking at it in photos and videos, I thought it looked cheap and plasticy, the large home button was clunky and obtrusive and the metal trim made it look too iPhone-ish.
None of that is true when you see it for real. It is incredibly thin and light, but feels very much like a premium handset. There is no cheap plastic feel to it whatsoever even though it is a plastic case. It feels very high-end in your hand. The home button didn't seem nearly as large as it appears in the photos I've seen. It looks proportionate and just seems to melt into the bottom portion of the phone. It all looked and felt very nice. Finally, when you see it, the smokey metal ring around it, just adds to the overall esthetics of the phone. Again, very cool and appropriate for the device.
Just thought I'd pass along my thoughts in case anyone was like me and was excited by the specs of this phone, but a bit dubious about its look and feel. Honestly, no worries there at all.
The clerk came over after a while and asked if he could help me with anything. I said yeah, you can sell me one of these.. He said, "I will on Friday. Isn't it one of the sweetest phones you've ever seen?". I have to agree.
does it have the same type of screen as the Omnia 2, that thing is a scratch magnet.
Samsung Vibrant or Google Nexus 1?
