They dont need to hack them....twice recently, never having used the iTunes store before, but wanting to download some apps for my iPhone, I didn't want to use my regular credit card so i just want to Loblaws and purchased a $25 Visa card--any visa card. I used it to get into iTues, purchased about $23 worth of stuff and was happy.
2 weeks later I needed to update something, went into iTunes ad it told me I owed them that $23....not knowing why i went back to Loblaws for I was unable to find the other card ( Seems my hubby had spent it....Apple deducted the $23 and then reversed it a few days later so he had the full $25 used up.
So i went and purchased a second card but this time i got a higher amount and went into iTunes, paid off the $23 and then bought more. Well wouldn't you know it, a few days later i foud out that the same thing happened and now i understand they dont accept regular Visa cards but anyone can go in with one and use it and if they dont ever have to buy from iTunes again then they never have to pay it back.
So these guys would only need to hack if they need to go into iTunes several times + on the same account.
