    Motorola Milestone with Simple Mobile

This is my first post and I'm not too familiar with the cell phone industry, so bear with me.

I have a chance to get a good deal on an unlocked Motorola Milestone from someone. Will it work with simple mobile? What do I have to do to make it work? What are my other prepaid options for unlimited talk/text/web with this phone? I'm in Nashville Tn. and T-Mobile coverage is pretty good hear.

    Any help is much appreciated,

    Tobster

It will work but just be clear that there will be no 3G.

T-Mobile is your only option for unlimited talk/text/web. AT&T doesn't offer unlimited data, and doesn't even offer data at all through MVNO's that will let you bring your own phone.
LTE has arrived. The third carrier in Las Vegas with 10x10 LTE coverage

Coverage will expand to 100 million LTE pops for the first half of 2013, with the second half of 2013 expanding to 200 million POPs covered. Release 10 LTE (2×10, 2×20) will be better performing than all other competitors.

if the OP was to get the european milestone, i assume it could work on his preferred network, simple mobile.
because the euro. version has a quad band gsm radio, and it has 900 and 2100 mhz frequencies for 3g. simple mobile uses 1700/2100 mhz for 3g. as long as he has one of the required 3g frequencies on his phones radio, it could work. somebody want to clarify this?

Okay, that's good to know. I don't know if the one I was looking to buy is euro or not. I'm not set on getting the milestone, but I do want a good (used/cheap) android smartphone on a prepaid plan.

    Thanks for your help guys.

No it won't work. It needs both.. because AWS uses both exclusively.

You have a good number of options for used, not too sure about good. The CLIQ line is well built, but it's underpowered like most T-Mobile Android phones. The Motorola Charm is launching soon with a smaller screen, but more horsepower and with Android 2.1. Screen is small though.
