So far, no "G" phones at local WalMart in Hot Springs, AR. The Verizon coverage here is a bit better than AT&T anyway. Just wish more of the phone's features were enabled on my 451c.
FINALLY! At least we get some kind of answer even if it isn't what we wanted to hear. The other question is can a ST Gsm phone be unlocked and used with other sims?
Both my phones were unlocked quad-band HTC phones...one old enough to be Cingular branded and the other one a TMobile Dash.
While I can't imagine why it would matter...stranger things have happened. Has anyone tried a GSM-ST SIM with a non-HTC phone?
Also, ATT has started device-locking go-phone SIMs for a period of 6 months. I'm wondering if Carlos is using a similar technology, and whether it could be circumvented? There are, for example, SIM adapters designed to unlock iPhones, that remove a lot of those stupid restrictions.
Have you seen Verizon's new $50 unlimited talk and text plan?
It gives even more weight to the thought that VZW is forcing ST out the door and to at&t.
The Verizon $49.99 unlimited talk/text is a trial available only to 11 states in the South. At least for now. It will be offered till Sept 10. We will find out what will happen after that.
I think Att may end up dropping prices on their unlimited plans. Those two companies copy each other on everything.
I'm REALLY glad to FINALLY see some downward preasure on the large companies. Sprint of course last year with Boost and this year with Virgin with slightly different plans...now maybe AT&T and Verizon too, to a lessor extent.
**News Flash*** The new Samsung T401g is now on Walmart.com. It also seems that At&t is the carrier.
Interesting. I've seen this phone at my local Walmart for a couple of weeks. When I put in my zip code on their website it says it's not operable in my area. A problem with the site I'm sure as there is plenty of AT&T coverage around here.

Their site goes by your entire zip code. So if there is one tiny area of it with no coverage, it says, "No coverage."
