I hate them to buddy, that's why I'm leaving (been with them since 2004) going back to Cellular South as soon as they get the Samsung Galaxy S (rumored to be October)..
If you have another option, jump ship.. That's the only thing they listen to.

Dear ATT,
I hate you so much words could not describe. What I love about ATT? calling them, and them doing absolutely squat for me. The sad thing is I have no contract so you would think they would try to keep me as a customer.
Can I get my blackberry unlocked? No, not for another 10 months according to the representative today. I bought the phone off a friend, not from them.
Can I get smartphone warranty? No, I did not buy the phone from them.. even though the previous owner did, and had warranty and receipts.
Can I get service at my house? No, they can't do anything about it. Could they fix it? Yes, give me a Microcell for free or at a discounted price. Did they do it?! as you've probably guessed no.
I love the service books you send me, with tons of applications I can't delete nor do I want. Do I want AT&T navigation instead of BB maps?Did you replace it, YES. I've been working on trying to get my BB maps back for two days now.
literally everytime I call, they are not able to do crap for me.
F you ATT! ( couldn't resist )

I think most providers have the same policy regarding extended warranties, I have one and it covers all of the phones I use on that line but I don't think I would be able to add it to any other lines that haven't had an upgrade performed in the last 30 days.
AT&T bloatware is pretty atrocious though
LTE has arrived. The third carrier in Las Vegas with 10x10 LTE coverage
Coverage will expand to 100 million LTE pops for the first half of 2013, with the second half of 2013 expanding to 200 million POPs covered. Release 10 LTE (2×10, 2×20) will be better performing than all other competitors.
T-Mobile USA. “This year, we’re stepping on the gas again. We are making continued coverage improvements and launching an advanced LTE network
Nah, I didn't have a problem getting an unlock code from AT&T for a BB the day I received it from a seller. I have been out of contract for awhile AT&T hasn't given me a stink with unlock codes when I asked from them.
Just hide the apps you don't want. I just use google maps, I have tried BB maps and it's looks bland to me.I love the service books you send me, with tons of applications I can't delete nor do I want. One things for sure, AT&T is stingy when it comes to discounts and freebies, something not likely to happen anyways unless it was bleeding customers.
OP, my best suggestion is to leave At&t ASAP even if you have to pay an ETF. No point paying for monthly service/phones you are unhappy with. There is no simple solution, short of switching providers, for you. I wish things were different, but it isn't. I left last year and couldn't be happier with my decision.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??
Sarcasm is a fine art...
"Don't believe everything you think"
It's not a matter of if you win or lose, it's how you assign the blame
While I'm sure that AT&T has people going through these forums and probably enjoyed your rant, these types of posts rarely do anything to change the ways a large corporation operates.
Leave for a different carrier that suits you better and hopefully others will do the same. It's customers churning (or not adding many new customers) that makes a wireless carrier change their policies.
It seems like I could replace ATT with Verizon/Sprint/anybody else and find someone who would say the exact same things about that company. Its awful that you have service that doesn't work for you but if aren't willing to switch carriers or pay for a microcell and you aren't under contract then it seems like you are a glutton for punishment.
You should probably look for a new carrier that better suits your needs. Why on earth would you stay with AT&T if they don't provide service where you need it?![]()

right now i am generally happy with both vz and tmobile and most likely wont ever deal with att again. The new iphone is tempting but i tell myself to wait until someone gets it also.
I wont knock those who like them since they work for alot of people but anytime i think i miss them, i look back and say wow im much better off now.
Yes, but some people expect to get everything for free. Because, you know, AT&T can produce the Microcells for free of course...
(OP, I know you said they wouldn't even give you a discount on it, but I bet if you tried hard enough you could find a CSR to give you a $50-$75 credit.)
Actually, I think it's more like: people are paying a certain amount a month and were probably led to believe that this would give them a reasonable expectation of coverage. It's counterintuitive to most people that on top of their monthly service fees, they would have to buy and install extra equipment, and provide their own backhaul in the form of a broadband internet connection, to provide the coverage they expected {insert carrier here} would.
I've always had my misgivings about telling people to go buy a microcell. It's a lazy way out, when the real way to fix coverage gaps SHOULD be to beef up the cellular network with carrier-supported equipment. Or at the very least, people shouldn't be required to pay $150 for the device, and then an additional $20.month for the "privilege" of unlimited minutes on it.
Anyway, AT&T isn't the only carrier that sells Blackberries. The OP should consider their options.
iPhone 5 on AT&T
Oh I hear ya. I've had some issues with them as well but not as many as I did with Sprint once they joined with nextel. I had a nextel line since 02 but the lack of customer service toward nextel pushed me out at the end of my contract to the only real option at that time at&t.
I do agree with the microcell discussion but with them being so large the churn rate is the only real thing they look at. Then with the new iphone yeah lol! Don't get me started hehe![]()
At a local store today, I saw the 3G Microcell for $150 with $150 in rebates. Just get it, sign up for the $20/month plan, get your rebates, and cancel the plan. You'll end up spending no more than $20-40 in total on it.
In areas where the outdoor coverage isn't sufficient, I agree. However, there are a lot of areas where outdoors or in vehicles you can get a usable signal, but the only coverage "gaps" are indoors because of buildings that block the signals. In those places, the carrier shouldn't have to put up additional towers to put out a signal strong enough to blast through walls and into basements; given that the buildings ARE the problem, it should be up to the building owners to do something about the problem, which is either buying a cellular amplifier, a femtocell, or building the structure out of some material that doesn't attenuate wireless signals.Originally Posted by scaredpoet
