I would anticipate blackberry service eventually. Even with low end handsets such as the pearl flip.

What is Understood, Need Not Be Discussed...."
They wouldn't do this if they weren't feeling the WIND heat. They refused to compete for over a year and a half that they knew competition was coming.
Funny, I thought big Rogers was invincible.
Extra text message package? What if i'm on the $35 plan and plan to text more than 50 times? or is it not made available (purposely) to force users to move up to the $45 plan...
Chatr to Chatr?
LOL at "“Quality phones at a super low price”.
As per News today, Mobilicity, not Wind is more worried about Chatr.
Mobilicity plans to file a complaint against Rogers to the Competition bureau.
Of course it's all speculation at this time, but I think Chat-r, like Mobilicity, is not portable between home zones as is Wind. With 25-cent roaming, including the LD charge, this is not a deal-breaker when set against Rogers' proven network. It will be easy and low-cost, at first, for Rogers to match the geographic area of Wind's home zones. What will happen a few years down the road when Winds builds out its network is another matter. By that time, probably everyone will be offering free LD within Canada.
As for the "up-selling" between the $35 and $45 plans, that's pretty obvious while a better value, IMO, than what Mobilicity is offering. Voice mail and unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting for $10 is a good deal compared to what Canadians have been charged.
It all boils down to the geographic area of the home zones and how often one will incur the roaming fees and whether one can live without data. Too bad it won't be available outside the major cities. Maybe that will come when the federal government starts to pressure companies to offer the same packages to rural Canadians as they do to urban residents.
BELL PLAN
250 mins | Unlimited evenings and weekends 6pm-8am | Per second billing after the first minute | Caller ID, Vmail | SAF + 911 fee waived | Unlimited texting | Unlimited Local Incoming Calls | 0.08c and 0.15c LD in Canada and US respectively | Detailed Billing | Call Conference, Waiting and Forward | 6GB - 10%
Total $55.37 incl. tax
^ And to stay true to the Wind hot-dog commercial, they will call it the BUN (Building Ur Network) fee.
Where's all the folks who said nobody needs unlimited?
Nobody understood what was attractive about Wind's plans: simplicity. It was never about unlimited. It was about easy to understand plans and bills. You don't have to think at all when using your phone. Now Rogers see all the new entrants embracing that concept And customers responding so they are finally understanding it. Heck, people might even pay more for simple easy to use plans.
