    Docomo Applications?

I was just wondering if it's possible to "cheat" the system and download applications online to the SD card and run it on a Docomo phone. Or if the phone itself has wi-fi, can you download applications that way? I'm looking at applications such as games or flash applications.

    Thanks!

"Cheat" system? As if phones are a video game now these days..... If you can connect natively to the Docomo network you don't have to cheat. You can just go to i-mode and download whatever you want

    It's all good (^_^)

Yeah you could get all the apps you want in around a week or so by:

    1. Paying $1000-$2500 for a ticket to Narita
    2. Pack your bags (and your keitai) and get on your flight
    3. Arrive in Japan and get a Visa on Arrival (It's $100 per person in some countries, not sure about Japan)
    4. Make friends with a Japanese person who just happens to be on docomo
    5. Take their phone while they are not looking and "accidentally" go home with it
    6. Download all the apps you can to your phone
    7. Give the phone back the next day saying, "Oh! I accidentally took your phone!"
    8. Run, but be sure not to drop your phone!
    9. Get on the next flight back to wherever you live
    10. Congratulations! You have just cheated the system!

But in all seriousness, if you could cheat the system, it would've been done already.
    What a long emoticon...

The only two phones I see this happening for are the SH-10B (Android- duh) and MAYBE the N-08B (it's running Windows CE, a first for NEC, but I'm not entirely sure if the underlying OS is accessible enough to count)

If you ship yourself in a crate you can save that airfare ticket.

So in other words sorry to disappoint you but unless you sign up for service this is not doable. I always just save some extra money for games and stuff and when i go over to Japan i make sure i download as much as i can while i am there. I have a few games some other fun things and some ringtones and themes.

    Only option for time being.

Unfortunately, you can't. The only way to use it outside of Japan is by attaching a hypersim to your SIM card. Mobile data will not work.
