Speaking only for my self, I was on Boost and liked it a lot compared to my former Verizon plan. I switched to VM for two reasons primarily. I use about 200 voice minutes a months so the $25 BT plan was in effect "unlimited voice" for me. Everything else is unlimited so it became $25 versus $50 for my needs. The second reason was phone selection. I wasn't in need of a Blackberry and the VM Rumor Touch was a much, much better phone than the Sanyo Incognito (or the Sanyo Mirro).
I actually just came from BoostMobile and switched to Virgin Mobile on the July 1st.
I had the $60 unlimited plan with the Blackberry, as none of the other phones had an actual twotter app, lol.
as June went by, I got tired of paying $60 when I hardly talk on the phone... and I started searching around for cheaper service that had unlimited messaging... i couldn't find anyrhing. I then saw an assurance commercial... the one about how you can get a free phone with 200 minutes a month... free...
i knew i didn't qualify for it, but I was like "if that phone company is giving a free phone and 200 minutes a month free, surely they have some paid plans that would work for me..."
so i looked up assurance online, then saw that it was via Virgin Mobile... and was
ike "oh! i forgot all about that phone company"... so i checked out their website and plans... and was blown away! the plans were MADE for me.... i am so grateful... lmao!
i went with the $25 plan, but had an emergency last week which used up 100 of my minutes... so i'm going to go with $40 plan, ax that'll be PLENTY.

eft a sour taste in my mouth. they get TOO slow Nd free up due to multitasking... and it is such a hassle to remember to closr apps after using them... so i pick best next thing... the rumor touch... (it also helped that the rumor touch had\has a twitter app) lmao.
Cost. That's the bottom line. VM offers data and web, and way more minutes that I use in a month, for half what Boost wants. I got a solid phone with a full keyboard, because I text a fair bit, and I'm pleased. I was paying $40 a month for Cingular for unlimited voice that I rarely used, texts, and no data. What;s not to like about VM?
If you talk, text, and use web a lot, Boost is a better choice (or should I say WAS...but now that VM is getting decent phones, $10 extra per month may be worth it for the unlimited users)
I text a lot and use the web on my phone alot as well, but I use between 150 and 250 minutes per month, so the $25 plan is literally "beyond" perfect for me. That is the major thing that makes VM better than Boost; VM offers different options rather than spend $25 more when I dont need it.
Also, Ive been using VM since 2005. I tried Tracfone, Straight Talk, Helio(R.I.P.) and even Sprint contract, but always went back to VM because Im comfortable with it.
The OP is asking about those who are subscribed to the $60 unlimited plan, NOT those who are on the $25 or $40 plan. No one so far has stayed with the topic on hand.

One of the reasons one might choose Virgin's $60 plan instead of Boost's $50 CDMA plan is because Virgin offers a $150 touch screen phone, while Boost CDMA offers nothing of the like officially. Concerning Boost iDen, I find the network's data speeds along with the i1's absurd price to make it non-comparable.
the OP did not specify, and even had they specified, my post is still relevant... being that i came from boost to virgin mobile... (which i was paying $60 a month with my blackberry on boost mobile)... and i answered the question... lol. it is quite simple. *cough* love.
I think the OP is asking about VM $60 unlimited everything vs Boost $50 unlimited everything. It really comes down to phone selection as both plans are reasonable. Boost has the android phone with push to talk on the IDEN side for $50 per month as well as "bring your own device" and the Incognito on the CDMA side. Unlimited everything for $50 per month is a home run.
Virgin has the very nice Rumor touch and Rumor 2 and a few other nice handsets for $60 per month.
The service is basically the same for both carriers. Even the voice mail is the same. The Main advantage for boost is the larger selection of phones with Bring your own device you can choose from a number of sprint phones. But really it boils down to personal choice unless $10 per month makes a huge difference for you.
Now if you throw in the other beyond talk plans on Virgin, it changes the landscape of the discussion, but based on the OP's question, I don't think those apply here.
Comparing the same unlimited service on VM vs Boost, you would pick VM if you want one of their devices without any of the hassles of swapping it in (Ie you could get a Sprint Rumor Touch on Boost.. but it is a little bit of a pain to swap in). Virgin's Mobile OLAM is a little bit better than Boost. And VM will support their devices while Boost will definitely not support issues you have with your Sprint device. Of course, Boost would support it with the Incognito, etc...

The VM Beyond Talk Unlimited Plan is a great OPTION to have. It allows you the ability to CHOOSE Unlimited service on an as-needed basis. You will not be required to pony up extra dollars for unlimited voice on a monthly basis if you do not need to. If, on the other hand, you know that you will need more than 1200 minutes every month then the Boost Mobile plan would be the right choice for you.
The only other reason you would want to choose Boost Mobile would be the use of Direct Connect without a contract.
Boost Mobile continues to not allow "bring your own device" onto their cdma service.
P R E P A I D is just another way to offer (and pay for) premium services and devices.
The difference is that Boost is running REV 0 CDMA on the CDMA phones and that Virgin is running Rev A CDMA..... simply the data speeds at much faster on Virgin than on Boost (either network)... hope this helps

Also, Virgin Mobile has a superior Blackberry in all respects sans flash.
