    payLo by Virgin Mobile

It is their basic service re-named, I suppose. Also see the LG 101 offered for $20

Unfortunately it looks like Virgin Mobile USA has caught up with the rest of the mobile providers. From the payLo Terms of Service:

If you do not Top-Up at least $10 again during the Active Period, your account will become inactive 24 hours following the expiration of the Active Period, and we will assess you a termination charge equal to the balance in your account, which is not refundable even if you reactivate your account.
I had always thought that one of the advantages that they had was that you did not lose your balance during the grace period.

I like the $20/400 --- VM/Sprint can sweeten that with a Roll-Over minute feature. The new 5cpm rate is a fantastic deal.

The changes should stimulate more profit from the basic service side for VM.
The old PAYGO plans will no longer be available to new subscribers after August 16th.
No Contract means I have all the power.
They want me, but they can't have me...

    VZW PrePaid: $45 | Republic Wireless: $5

That's 5˘ per minute only if you talk for 6 hours and 40 minutes. For me, it would probably be more than $1 per minute.

That would be kinda expensive..., if you are on one of the old PAYGO plans, they're still available (grandfathered).

The new $20/400 payLo is still much better than the old $20/200 paygo option.
