Motorola DROID X MB810 Release Thread - Keep all phone discussion here

Yes, the time has come for the Motorola Droid X MB810 to get its own release thread. Please use this thread for discussion about the phone. Please don't create other Droid X threads unless it is about something specific.

The phone is listed for sale on the Verizon site here:
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=5369
    Accessories are listed here:
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...e&phoneId=5369
    Droid X support page:
    http://support.vzw.com/clc/index.htm...69&m=&x=8&y=18

Here are a few reviews of the Droid X:
PhoneArena, Engadget, PhoneScoop, boygeniusreport, PCAdvisor, Slashgear, PCMag.

I've removed the posts about "I can't order, it's not showing up" and "I've ordered mine".
We don't need to bloat this thread with 'me too' posts.
Now if you have some type of question to ask about ordering or have an experience that you want to share "I wasn't allowed to upgrade" or "My local store was sold out", then that is ok.

I got mine ordered through the business account. I tried to order another one for a line that upgrades in Oct and got this message. Upgrade Status: You are currently not eligible for Upgrade with discounted pricing. You will be eligible on 10/09/2010. If you prefer, you can upgrade today at full retail price.

This could be a problem for some looking to upgrade early. I'll have to check with my rep tomorrow.

Not available for me yet, and despite the whole "If your contract ends in 2010 you can upgrade early without additional fees" thing all I'm seeing are month-to-month prices since my contract end date isn't technically up until 8/8 and there's nothing on my account that mentions the "early upgrade without the fee" thing.

Looks like there's a trip to a physical store before work due tomorrow morning. Hope my local corp store has enough, and hope this early upgrade business works out, or else I'll be pretty disappointed.

*note, I'm already pretty disappointed: My local stores wouldn't let me see a demo Droid X, wouldn't let me make an appointment, and couldn't give me any information as to how many units they were expecting. Also, nobody I talked to at at least a few stores had heard of the "early upgrade with no fee" thing in the Moto/Verizon press release, even though I had printed it out to show them. They just kept telling me "Well, if you received a special email that said that, then there will be a notation in your account that will pop up on the 15th." Nobody understood that it was a company-wide press release that should, in theory, apply to everybody with a contract end date in 2010. They said there was no way for them to move up my upgrade date or otherwise note it in my account, and that it would "just happen." I have a gut feeling I'm going to walk away Droid X-less tomorrow AND be late for work, because they either didn't have enough and WERE taking appointments, but didn't let me have one, or I'll get to the register and they'll ask me for full MSRP because they won't accept the "early upgrade with no fee" explanation, even with my nifty highlighted printout with their company's letterhead right on it. I really hate my local stores.

Sometimes new phones show up on some zip codes first. I can take a little while for it to be populated to all the zip codes on line. I've seen new phones show up at 10pm the night before release, at midnight, 1-2am, 9am.

I never called and had my upgrade date moved (it is currently Aug 2010), can that be done in-store or do I need to call *611 right now?
    There's a map for that...

I thought that might be the reason, so I tried 8 different zip codes from LA to Boston...nothing. I'm stumped.

Ah...that makes sense. For those that have been able to order, which zip code did you use? I just tried an East Cost zip and no dice still. This blows.

I don't want to be in a world that doesn't anymore. The site needs to show 3 Motorola Android devices...

Is it dangerous to order the accessories with the phone...will it delay shipment?

People, I've said it before, it depends on your zip code, as new phones can show up on some zip codes first.
