It is 4.7.0.255 and it doesn't have the 'follow me'.
Best just to use the Google Maps Navigation since it is free.

Looks like it's still available online at least. It would suck if there are major shortages. Don't need another Storm/Incredible.

Not that I plan on hacking one, but to anybody who is, PLEASE be careful with your new baby This guy has the capability to brick itself, though of course it can be unbricked by the powers that be, aka Motorola.

Just called the local corp. store. They had 50 to start with with 29 left and 18 people in line. They have a live demo X and it's hooked up to a TV. Will go by to check it out but can't get one until 01/2011.

I ordered one online last night through my business account. I have a small business share plan with 10K min and unlimited text on all lines. I am upgrading the main line to take advantage of the $100 instant discount and a $150 bill credit which makes the phone free and I get $50 back. When I was ordering online the order form wouldn't let me keep my current plan so I chose a data only plan. Apparently that was the wrong choice. This message was waiting for me in my inbox this morning.

    Good Morning,
Mobile number XXX-XXX-XXXX is a primary line on this account. The other secondary lines need to be changed to a single line before we can order equipment and change the rate plan. Once plans have been updated, we can process the equipment order. Your order has been canceled.

    Thanks,

    Chris/BSC Offline Team

GRRRR. That sucks. I have contacted my account rep. I hope I don't get screwed for weeks waiting on a back order. Like I did with the Inc. I waited 3 weeks last month then canceled my Inc order to wait another 3 weeks for this to start selling. I'm tired of waiting!

Just talked to my local corporate store. They are all sold out and not sure when the next shipment will arrive but old me that I could order one and receive it on Monday. I think the sales person that I was talking to was misinformed but she told me that I if I bought the Droid X I would get a Droid free.

The Authorized reseller about 5 minutes from my house hasn't even received their shipment of X's in yet. They expect to get 4 of them around 4pm but they won't do the buy a Droid X get a Droid free.

I would have ordered one and got the Droid free but I really don't want to blind buy a cell phone.

    oh decisions

I'm usually not one to blind buy a cell phone either. I have played with the Incredible(and liked it before I found out about the X) and an EVO just to get an idea of the size. I figure if I don't like it, hopefully there will be Incredibles available within the 30 day window. This totally feels like the oPhone vs. zPhone episode of Hannah Montana.

FYI, in case people run into the same issue as me

i had an issue where when i try to upgrade the phone, i get to a page that says "the selection is unavailable at this time" after i have selected the new plan. after talking the the online sales rep, i had to change my plan first.

i was originally on the connect family plan as the primary. in order for me to order the droid x, i had to change my plan first to the new talk and text plan, then upgrade the phone. it wouldnt work the other way. and changing the plan does NOT affect the upgrades on the other line. also, free overnight was automatically included for me so i was able to use the 10% off coupon to save another $35 because i ordered the desktop dock & HDMI combo for $50 and upgraded my dads phone the the env touch for $50. hmm...not that i think about it...Droid X $200 + Desktop Dock & HDMI Combo $50 + Dads phone $50 = $300...but the 10% coupon saved me $35...i think they include the data plan also...

    Coupon used:

Went to the 34th Street NYC Verizon store. Was told that anyone who is purchasing full retail could only order online. Anybody having this issue anywhere else?

Thankfully I bought the Droid X at the 24 hour Best Buy in Union Square. FYI full retail at Best Buy is $699.
