Got mine in the Glastonbury, CT VZW store. Got there at 8:15 and was 10th in line...store had 28 phones, and when I left at 10:00 over 20 were spoken for.
I'm just the opposite. I use Google Navigation almost daily with my DROID since November and I always have it on mute. I couldn't even imagine needing to listen to the voice directions.
While using a TomTom or Garmin where I am going some place I have never been I don't want to stare at the little screen. Because of my freelance work, if I am using GPS navigation, it is often some place I know nothing about, and may never go back there. The voice will tell me when it's time to turn/exit/whatever. I would rather keep my eyes on the road and be alerted when it is time to do something.
That's one thing that freaked me out about the VZNavigator on flip phones. The driver is looking and squinting at a postage stamp screen trying to figure out the turns while actually driving. Kind of scary. It would talk, but often botch street names enough that people would still stare at the screen to confirm what they were hearing.
Looks like mine is running .516 as well. OTA update says phone is up to date.
Me too. If I do the suggested system reset, is that like a factory fresh restore?
Though it looks like a lot of my contacts are really botched when importing from a Blackberry. A LOT of businesses are in there with the name "Other" and the business name is. Looks like I have some work to do.

Load up mail.google.com on your desktop or laptop. It's much easier to mass edit contacts on gmail than on your phone... of course, with a new phone you probably are looking for any excuse to use it for hours on end, lol.
I got over to the local Verizon Corporate store about 10:30 Am today, and they were already sold out. That started me to thinking. Is the reason that they don't have a boat load of these at each corporate store, that they are concerned about having unsold inventory that they will have to pay for? Or is it because the manufacturer can't produce sufficient quantity? I can't understand why you create a multi-million dollar advertising campaign for a device, then don't have a ton of them available to push out of the door at launch. How else can you expect to sell 1.5 million of these in a few days? It has to be a conscious decision by someone to create this kind of situation. I'm not angry or anything, just kind of wondering about it. Is this the standard business model for telecom companies?
i just got my X!! there were 8ppl waiting in line at around 640 when i drove by my local store. i came back at 750ish after PT and those were the only 8 they had. lol glad i didnt wait. i even sweet talked the lady into giving me a droid x shirt they were wearing
lol man, you missed out. Why didn't you just get the girl with the t-shirt if you went that length just to get the t shirt ?
I could imagine there are a bunch of bright people putting their heads together behind the scenes (especially in light of the cryptic birdman tweets)...
Its time to sit back and wait for the magic to happen... and hope what they are working on gets confirmed and goes public sooner, rather than later
Got mine this morning before the store opened as arranged. (I think the guy waiting in the truck outside was wondering how I got inside early.)
And no mail-in rebate card. Phone came up at $199 in the system. The rep thought that was strange, but we rolled with it. I actually would have been better off with the rebate, because I ended up applying my NE2, and saving the company $50. Oh well, they'll just have to buy me more accessories!!!
Initial impressions:
1) WOW!
2) Um... this thing really is huge!
3) WOW!!
4) Uh oh, how do I answer that call coming in?
5) OK, now, how do I call my voicemail?
6) WOW!!!
7) Lots of apps available for this thing!
8) Doesn't feel that big.
9) I can't belive all the stuff this thing can do!
10) How do you turn off the &^$% SMS pop-ups?
11) I'm going to like this!
Got my tracking number for online order. Will be here tomorrow.
When did you place your order online again?

Yeah, I think that I'm going to love this phone once I can figure out how to work it properly. I must admit that with this being my first smartphone, I am completely lost. I'm sure that in a week's time of excessive playtime with it and a bit of research, I'll have mastered it though.
