    Lightbulb Motorola DROID X Firmware update (.604) and Hardware tracking thread

    Use this thread to post the software version and date code of your Droid X.

    The X should come with firmware 1.13.516 but there is an over-the-air-update that (should) update it to .604 firmware. If it doesn't update you might want to try a factory reset, then have it check for the update You guys can post the date code on the back label if it differs from 25/10 (week/year).
    => Read my reviews for the Samsung Droid Charge, HTC ThunderBolt, and Casio G'zOne Commando.

    => VX8000 at Disney World:Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.

    FAUguy, does a factory reset clear the download history in the market? I can backup all my apps with astro, but if the download history is cleared, update notifications won't show up.

    Yes, I believe so. Doing a factory reset will put the phone in the same state as it was when it left the factory. You'll have to reactivate the phone and install apps again.

    DO NOT attempt to hack into your phone (root, load custom rom, etc.), it may just brick itself, and no, I'm not being funny. I'd hate to see anybody ruin their new toy, and who knows when Motorola will be set up to unbrick one, and how long they might take or what they would charge to do it, this is just insanse Moto!

    That's what I suspected. I guess I will just wait for an OTA update. Not feeling like reinstalling all my apps again.

    Firmware .604 is OTA. I downloaded and installed it last Friday, but since then some people aren't able to get the .604 OTA to show up.

    Has anyone been able to see that OTA since last weekend? I'm thinking they removed it or something, except you said Bill said otherwise?

    None of us VCC can see it, even after factory reset.

    I'm not sure then, it might have been removed. It had a web link to release notes on the Verizon site, but the HTML page was not there. I checked it todyay and it still isn't listed on the Droid X support page.

    And if you go to System Update in Settings, does it tell you that you are up to date?
