Does anyone know how to delete the built in Opera Mini app so it can be reinstalled?
I upgraded it to the latest Opera Mini 5.1 a while back and it has been working beautifully until about a week ago - now the loading progress bar gets to about the 80% mark and nothing further happens.
A workaround to get opera back is to download and install Opera Mini 4.2 - you end up with the original icon as a bricked version of 5 and a new icon as Opera 4.2 which does work but sucks in comparison.
I have a number for Huawei and will be calling them on Monday.
OK. I now have a fix, I don't know if these steps contributed to the fix, but I'm listing them in the order I did them in case one contributes to the next. This is what I did and I now have Opera Mini 5 back on my phone
1) Installed Opera 4.2 onto phone and ran it - worked, old built in icon still triggers broken vers. 5
2) Did a Factory reset using the code *167.... (you can find code yourself or call Huawei)
3) Tested the built-in Opera Icon - which launches Opera Mini 5 and asks the original Authorize/Accept questions - it takes a bit to install and initialize but, finally loads.
