    LG VS740 Ally

Has anyone been able to get the LG Ally working on Page Plus?

Is there an easy way to turn off the data package so you don't accidentally go over the allowed 50MB?

    thanks!

I was wondering this too! I wish someone would answer. Is the Ally too new or something?

P.S. I'm new here. Hello, all

Mine works just fine on Page Plus. To bypass the activation screen (the initial one with the android icon), touch the screen as follows: top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. That should get you to the home screen. The activation screen shouldn't come up after that. Everything will work on the phone while it's not activated except normal calling. I tried out mine for about a month before I activated it. I already had an account, just did an ESN change through a dealer. I only use Wifi for browsing, updating or adding apps. I turned off data with Quick Settings by Sergej Shafarenka. Data stays off until the phone is shut off.

From my understanding of it: The Ally can be upgraded to FROYO 2.2.1 via OTA. I have FROYO on my Droid & have found an option in settings to turn off data, you should not need a third party app.

What are the benefits of upgrading to 2.2?

What do you mean? The LG VS 740 doesn't need any modifications to function fully on PPC.

I have an LG Ally (VS740ZVE) and it is fully functional on PPC without any modications. After I activiated, I did an OTA update to Android 2.2.2. I can easily turn my data off by going to Settings -> Wireless -> Mobile Networks, Data Enabled (unchecked). I use this along with WifI and 3G watchdog and I never go over my data limit.

Now running a LG Ally on Velocity 2.0, got rid of the Verizon bloatware, working like a charm.
