I just got a Samsung Intercept, and I would like to add music to the SD card from my PC. When I plug it in, I get the "Unrecognized device" message, and I can't access it. I went on Samsung's website to look for some sort of drivers or software, but didn't find anything.
So... How do I interact with the files on my SD card that's inside the phone?
For the benefit of anyone else who might run into this, what did you find?
He probably found the notification bar can be dragged down to set the USB interface. You can choose Charge only, Sync, Disk drive, etc. When set to Disk drive you can see the SD card as a regular external disk and read/write just like any other device. Drag and drop or copy/paste makes moving music and other files very easy. Once you disconnect the phone (or switch modes to charge only), Android will search the card for new or changed files - no need to specify folders or anything.
Itunes not required (YAY!)
Yeah all android devices should work the same way, you don't need any special drivers or software. Just plug in the usb cable, and on the phone click mass storage, or copy files, and just drag and drop what you want. All devices should show up as an external drive or whatever.

What Roger says is pretty accurate. I just didn't expect to have to check something on the phone itself. My older phones connected like external drives automatically... Although that might be a WinMo thing.

Yeah that seems to be an extra thing added by the manufacturers, cause the nexus is more generic, there's not a list of choices, just connect and click mass storage and done.
I noticed that if the screen in my Droid X is locked when I connect the USB cable, it will not be mounted by the PC until I unlock it. Seems like a reasonable security precaution.
