Vibrant Problems: Please post all here so Samsung/Google Engineers can see them

I've been noticing since yesterday that I've been getting a lag or delayed response when trying to switch screens or open up my email while running Pandora in the background.

The Menu or Home keys become unresponsive and the screen goes black then all of a sudden I feel several vibrations from all the keystrokes I pushed previously that never rendered.

I think we all are aware of the GPS problem where it takes forever to find your location. This is obvious when Google Maps doesn't update the current city for hours even when you manually refresh the application.

I believe most of us are also already aware of the signal strength reading to be off. This phone shows zero bars almost everywhere with a signal reading of 0 dBm's. This isn't right.

Ok assuming it's not "just my phone," I found a couple of more:

    1) The sensor that detects when you pull your phone away from your face doesn't always work. I was calling an automated system and when I pulled the phone away to "Press 1," the screen remained black until I pushed in the power key.

    2) Today I had my phone plugged into my aux port and I turned off my car to get gas... When I turned my car back on the audio didn't commence and the screen turned black. Pressing the power key did not light it back up. I had to pull the battery then reinsert then the power key operated as normal.

With problem 2 above, does anyone know if leaving the phone plugged into the aux port when turning the car off then on can damage a phone's hardware?

It's almost always a bad idea to have anything plugged in while turning the car off or on. Voltage spikes from the starter motor when starting the engine can fry any DC inputs using that for power, and relays shutting off can do the same when you're switching off.

Anyone else have the problem with the browser force closing if it's allowed to use GPS? If I give th browser permission to use GPS to find my location instead of "Wireless Networks" then the Google homepage force closes. I think this has something to do with the same GPS issue. Because if I turn off the GPS permissions, then everything works fine.

It is working fine on my phone. Although I don't get a location (no clear view of the sky) the google homepage stays open.

Is there a way to turn off the touch screen tones somehow? Or maybe change the tone?

I've had an intermittent problem with my screen not going dim after a missed call or message. When I get to my phone the screen is bright as can be, since the call came in. That will kill a battery pretty quick.

What was odd was that it was really hot right under the screen so when I ran my finger over it, it kinda scorched

That is a pretty large area Would you say a little above the battery?

You are not alone. I would hate finding the phone dead just because of that.

If the phone isn't responding often you should do a master reset. Worked for me and multiple others. You will still get an occasional pause and thats due to the firmware. If you're still not happy with the speed SetCPU should fix that right up.. Also the GPS on mine is ok, not good though. I did mess with the settings a bit. The black screen without any response is probably a bad unit. I don't have any of that. Try the reset first though.

Pausing has been fixed in the later betas and the GPS is also showing some serious improvement although I do get locks just fine, down to 5M in my house but it's not instant.

The gps is awful, the phone is buggy. I guess I will skip the epic unless they fix all the issues.
I need the Samsung Epic NOW!!!!!
