I don't believe the current iPhone is compatible with Videotron's frequencies.

BUT: there are rumours that the iPhone 4 is going to T-Mobile in the States, and they use the same 3G frequencies as Wind/Mobilicity/Videotron, so if the rumour is true we should soon have the iPhone on those 3, since there is no exclusivity deal in Canada.

Of course, these 3 in Canada are of little interest to Apple, I'm sure, what with less than half a million subscribers combined, and one that hasn't launched yet! T-Mobile USA has as many subscribers as our whole country lol...
17.50 ("killer plan": 200 mins by the second, unlimited E/W from 5pm) + 10 (retention VP: 2500 SMS, CD, VM) + 30 (data plan: 6GB with tethering) - 10 (data credit)
    = $47.50 + 911 + tax
If you're selling a good plan on Telus, Bell, or Rogers, PM me.

It would be awesome but there have been rumors that Verizon would come on board with a CDMA version of the iPhone and that has not happened yet. I still can't believe AT&T still has exclusivity in the US!!

T-Mobile has a better chance than Verizon. For a CDMA Iphone, they would have needed to restructure the phone hardware for the CDMA technology while for T-Mobile they only need to chnage the frenquencies.

I presume that by Q1 on 2011 T-Mobile will have their Iphone 4

It's legal in the states to unlock your phone from it's carrier. AT&T exclusivity is finished. Other Carrier should be able to negociate a deal with Apple now.

    No.
Unlocking was always legal, jailbreaking was iffy, and Apple basically motioned that both should be illegal. The US government clarified that both were legal. It has nothing to do with AT&T exclusivity.

Well if you read the article it says that it has something do do with the exclusivityalso.

What does it matter whether you can jailbreak and unlock an iPhone or not. apple is selling the iPhone unlocked in Canada. The problem is still the 3G bands. There's a rumor that the iPhone 4 actually has the 1700 band but just locked it out. I don't really believe it.

So there probably won't be an iPhone on Videotron this year. Next year, maybe.

It was not a matte in Canada but in the USA. If AT&T lose their exclusivity with this judgement and T-Mobile convince Apple to release a AWS version in the near future, we may have that version later on inm Canada.

Anyway, for me, I'm going Android. I love my Ipod Touch, but I prefer to have seperate devices instead everything combine into one.
