unlocking a Nokia 2330 (problem getting unlock code)

Okay, this issue is not exactly as it seems, I am not asking for an unlock code. However, I went to cellunlockstore.com and purchased a code. Gave them the IMEI # and they are having problems figuring out the code because there are different software versions of the phone.

They are supposed to get back to me tomorrow, but in the event they can't provide a working #, can anyone recommend a better way of obtaining the number?

    I really appreciate it

What network is it locked to ? AT&T (Gophone?) or T-Mo (Prepaid?)

It might be easier to obtain the unlock code from the carrier if you have an active accounting in good standing with them. It's an inexpensive dual band phone & I got one as a spare recently - moving its battery as a new replacement for an already unlocked 3G Nokia plus the charger as a spare.

See, here is the problem. The phone is on a CellularOne account, and CellularOne was purchased by AT&T a few years ago. It is actually my cousin's phone, but I instructed him to buy it and he is not very internet savvy so I am doing the grunt work for him. I had a Siemens phone that I gave him and purchased an unlock code for it, worked like a charm. Unfortunately, it needs a new battery and I ran across this GoPhone deal for $7 and thought he could just get it unlocked.

Going to AT&T won't work for him, they are hassling him to abandon the CellularOne account and get an AT&T account, but he is hesitant because he has a decent deal on his current account.

Worst case scenario I will just find him an unlocked GSM phone, but since he has this one already I would really like to just find an unlock code for it.

Hopefully someone will be able to help me out, I feel like a douche for telling him to buy it. I didn't anticipate that acquiring an unlock code would be so troublesome
