Regardless of the HUP or not, I am going to buy the Unlocked Iphone 4 at full price, my wife is complaining about I sold her iphone in June as well as the crappy Magic from Rogers (Even though I rooted it and loaded up Froyo). Also her birthday is coming so I don't want to miss a chance to wait for the order. Last time I ordered the ipad for my daughter and takes almost a month to arrive (2 days before my daughter birthday).
Hopefully to see you all tomorrow night around 4 to 4:30am. Still not sure what time that I can start leaving since with new born @ home, it aint easy to get it out that quickly.
Please your lining up to buy a product slightly sooner then other people.
People will make fun of you. Who cares what people think.
You know, if the stock levels and sales figures are anything like they were in the US (and there's reason to believe Canada will get but a fraction of the units needed to meet initial demand) all of us "Crazy people" who went early could be getting the last laugh in a few weeks while the rest of you are still waiting for new stock.
Saw on MacRumours forum Apple Store will be handing out service tags to everyone in line. Different colours for different things. It'll be all hands on deck iPhone 4 until the regular open hours.

It would be more useful if they handed out NUMBERS instead so that the person who arrives #100 in line doesn't trample people in his sprint when the doors open to try to become #1 instead.
LOL it's free for all Boxing Day style from the mall entrance to the store entrance.
Personally, I'm hoping security has a little discussion about decorum with people before they swing the doors open. It's going to be downright dangerous if all the "Screw you I'm more important than all the rest of you!" idiots physically start pushing and shoving. If I remember correctly from entrance #3 at Fairview you need to go in the door and then up a flight of stairs (or an escalator, can't remember) to get to the upper level where the Apple store is located.
Trampling idiots and stairs/escalators do NOT mix.

true, but its not cool to spoil a person excitement whether you agree with their views or not.

At the Apple Store that I went to for iPhone 4 launch last month, they had people camping outside the mall entrance closest to the Apple Store. They opened the mall doors at about 6:45 (with police and security present) and escorted a predetermined number of people inside the mall, to the Apple Store, where they formed another line outside the store doors. There they were given tags and sorted. From there, a smaller number of people were let into the store at a given time to ensure that staff:customers was as close to 1:1 as possible.
Then as people left the store, more entered from the interior line. As people left the interior line, police let more people in from the exterior line.....you get the idea. There were a LOT of people. I already had my phone before opening day. I was there for journalistic purposes. They wouldn't even let me in the store, as I wasn't buying an iPhone.
You know that the more this dead horse is beat the more it appears it's really the AT&T networks crappy service levels that are a big contributing factor, right? Anyone notice that all the rest of the countries where the iPhone4 is released in don't have the same stories of woe as the US based AT&T customers?
I suspect Canada will be just fine given our much more robust networks...and with all due respect, please keep the topic on track and don't troll anymore.
That's even More laughable. Steve holds a press release and every reports it's fixed! It isn't and yes AT&T network is crappy (though seems only my friends in the US with iPhones say that)
The problem isn't fixed and it's not just with AT&T. The problem is if your in a weak signal area you'll drop calls/data. If your in a strong area you'll be down to 1 or 2 bars. So my original post still applies about it being laughable.
And I'm not trolling, I'm just pointing it out. For what it's worth I'm interested in getting one. All I said was any other phone and it would have been trashed and no one would have bought it. Yet on the IPhone people are talking about standing in line to buy a phone with a hardware flaw. So it's laughable in that sense. Tell me I'm wrong if it were any other phone.
You think the would have fixed it instead of claiming it isn't a problem.

I own this phone. I have since 06/23. I've used it every day. My home has an excellent signal and my office is full of concrete, lead and x-rays so the signal is poor. I've only dropped two calls on this phone, and it was because of a bad tower on my commute to work, not because of a phone defect.
At my office, my 3GS never got more than 2 bars of signal. My iP4 gets 3. If I strangle it, the bars go down to 1-2, but I have never dropped a call and have never lost data on my iP4. At home, the signal is 4-5 bars always. If I hold it tightly, in an unnatural way, I can get it down to 3 bars sometimes. Again, it has never degraded actual service.

Have you even used AT&T in the US before? I was in SF Bay area in May and I couldn't hold a signal in the city boundaries. Some areas are so bad I regretted paying Rogers for the data roaming add-on. Ended up going to a lot of Starbucks and other Wi-Fi areas to check my data apps and just checked voicemail when I got back to my dwelling at night. Because calls would just drop no matter what.
