    Milestone hardware support experiences?

    Hi all,
I'm having troubles with the headphone jack on my milestone cutting in and out, not being able to hear people on the headset, etc. Seems like a loose solder joint. the telus support twitter account people told me to take it in to a Telus retail store for service, and they would send it away to Motorola for me. I bought the phone outright, and am not in a contract. What are your experiences with hardware support? How long did it take for you to get the handset back? Were you offered a loaner?

I have been having the same headphone jack problem. I'm planning to take my phone to my local Telus dealer pretty soon. I think you get a loaner HTC Hero. Not sure how long it takes for Moto to repair it.

i cracked the screen on my milestone and futuretech, motorola's authorized service center doesn't deal with the public and asked me to return to point of sale for support. so i went to telus store and they sent it in for me. 4 weeks later i got a new screen and then some for $100. in the meantime i was offered htc hero as loaner for free.

    Sorry about bumping the thread...

^ You said it took 4 weeks. Are you serious!?!??! How can it take so long to just repair stuff like that

^ Also, on the receipt, it says you get a refund if it takes more than 2 weeks. Did you get a refund for that $100? Not that it matters to me. I'm getting it fixed for free cause it was a warranty repair.

I sent mine away for the headphone issue, and it's been 11 days. I'm using an unlocked N97 Mini that I had around the house. And man,,, It's really miserable.

Should've asked for a loaner HTC Hero or any other Android device. Symbian is horrible!!!

Mine has stopped vibrating and I was told 4-8 weeks for repair so I muddled through in the hope of waiting until the Hero was upgraded to 2.1. Still holding on until that happens so I don't have to go down to 1.5 when I get the loaner. I also thought it might be a good opportunity to try to root / get custom roms on the loaner but the process looks very difficult in comparison to the new devices (one-touch root etc).

I also actually don't mind my milestone now that they've patched almost all the issues with it.
