I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I believe Motorola has gotten out of the cell phone business and has sold that division to Nokia. Maybe Net10 doesn't have enough phones and will be putting them on clearance or something.
Interesting. I also wondered if it's Net10 moving more to T-Mobile if it's cheaper to Net10. Don't know if it's myth but I read somewhere (here?) most / all LG phones from Net10 use T-Mo and the Motorolas use AT&T.
Cross Stick, the phones can use either carrier, and Tracfone seems to have versions of all GSM phones that they sell that are data-optimized for both carriers. Since the Motorolas that Tracfone carries are older and have pretty much run through their sale lifetime, it does not surprise me that Trac has run out of them to sell. Too bad, the Motorolas were very nice phones and picked up a signal well. I still have two of them activated myself, a C261 and a W175. I have also used a C139 (I still have a bunch of those from the phone and two card deals), a V171 (very nice flip but no internet) and a C155 (I have a few of those as well), both of which were great but very basic phones.
As for Motorola getting out of the cell business, I doubt it. They make too much money on their exclusive iDen line for Nextel. Only Motorola and RIM make iDen phones. Motorola owns the patent for iDen phone technology and they do not allow any other company other than RIM (for Blackberries) to make that type of phone.
Thanks everyone. I should say again, Motos aren't gone from Net10's selections, they're just gone suddenly for my zip code. They still have 3 Moto models if you look at their phones before entering a zip code.
i always buy tracfone at walmart because they use att as the carrier. today i tried to buy an lg420 on the walmart web site and when i put in my zip code i was informed that it will not work in my area. i tried all the tracfones sold by walmart and none will work here any longer. makes me think that tracfone wants all their gsm phones using tmobile and are discontinuing att.
i can purchase an lg420 on the tracfone web site, but they all use tmobile as the carrier.
Just use a zip that's AT&T-only in order to view the AT&T phones. You can put the phones in your cart. When you check out, just change the zip to the correct shipping zip. The "viewing" zip has no bearing on anything. You will get AT&T phones shipped if you start out with zip 65046.

Try activating with the nearest city of any size's zip. If your locality roams onto another carrier, they cannot get a local number for your phone. If you post your home city or zip, I can get a map out and give you a large city near you to try (granted, more than likely you already know of a city of at least 3500 population near you to try).
If you know that you have AT&T coverage in your area, you can just ignore the warning from Wal-mart and order the phone anyway. Wal-mart is simply complying with TracFone's desire to sell GSM phones with T-Mobile sims for your area. That doesn't necessarily mean the phone won't work in your area, but first make sure you have AT&T coverage where you need it. Keep your receipt and if it really doesn't work, you can return it to a Wal-mart store within 90 days.
I see tonight they have the LG410g bundle with DMFL & an accessory kit on sale for $14.88 & free shipping at walmart.com. I like that bundle better than the deal at tracfone.com because of the DMFL & the lower price & not needing to be at home to sign for the FedEx package from TracFone.
