Help with3GS unlock on Windows

Hey guys I need help unlocking my friends 32gb 3gs. I havent done this since the iPhone 3g and it seems that a lot of things have changed. So here is the specs of the phone.

1. The phone is already on 4.0 I believe. Is there any way to check if it was upgraded to 4.01

2. I put it into DFU mode and it has the old 359.3

3. I see in the matrix that it can be done with Pwnagetool yet it says that upgrading to 4.0 or 4.01

4. Also I believe that Pwnage tool is only for mac right.

5. The phone has never been jailbroken at all. Is there a way to roll back to 3.1.2 if there is not a way to currently JB or unlock my with my current setup.

Any help is appreciated. I did search but there is a lot of conflicting information out there

Also the phone is stuck on Connect to itunes screen any way to hacktivate

Since the phone has never been jailbroken before, pwnage or sn0wbreeze won't work (which is currently the only way to JB 4.0 for the 3GS). And without your SHSH blobs saved for 3.1.2, you can't downgrade. You're going to have to wait for Comex to release the official iOS4 JB.

Now that Comex has released the 4.0 JB should I be able to hactivate/unlock. Also how do I hacktivate now?

You can't. You need pwnage or sn0wbreeze for this. Do you know of anyone with an AT&T SIM you could borrow?
