Suspending/holding account

Hi all,

I will be out of the country for about 10 months, is there any way I can ask fido to temporarily suspend/hold my account while I am away for free? I just want to keep my number.

I am willing to hold the remainder of my contract so that the period of time when I am away does not contribute towards my contract (so it is extended by an additional 10 months).

Im not sure of a way to hold your contract but possibly give the plan to a friend or family member? Of course i would lower it down to the cheapest possible plan like the $15 voice plan with no add-ons and give your friend $200 to pay for it monthly then when you can come back you can change your plan while your contract is 10 months shorter. although you are losing $200...

As far as I know, there no such feature. They will only downgrade the plan to the cheapest plan, and you still have to pay for it.
