To those who had upgraded to the iPhone 4 from a iPhone 3GS.
How do you find the battery life on your new iphone?
I find for me, that it feels like the same, but i guess the ultimate test is today, when i get to test it out at work, and see how long this full charge batt lasts me.
So far from a full charge, it is at 88%. Which seems to be same as my iphone 3GS, but i guess i will find out by end of today how much i have left.
Anybody else care to share?

Doesn't it usually take a few days for the battery to start working 100%. I found with my new bold, the battery sucked for the first few days and wouldn't hold a charge...
After a few full charges, it was holding it much better...
You are also probably using your phone a lot more than you old one because it's new!
Give it time!

well i got this on friday, and its tuesday, i have used it a bit more cause its new, but i guess i will have to see in this coming week if its same as my 3GS, but so far it seems like it so far.
I just read some posts on the apple subforum. Some say that their battery life improved when they setup their ip4 as a new phone, instead of doing a restore from their old 3GS. Me? I did a restore. My ip4 was never setup as a new phone yet. Could this be an issue? What about you guys?

i originally did it as a new iphone4, but prob is i had problems getting my ping2 ID back, so i just did a restore for now so i can still use my ping2 ID from 3GS.
My iphone 4 battery is just as useless as my 3g and my 3gs. I notice ZERO improvement. Really not impressed with the battery. My two co-workers same the same as me about their's too. At first I thought that it held out a little longer but then i ptted in against my 2 month old 3gs and then were neck n neck the whole time. Ive had my iphone 4 since friday morning and it has gobbled up at least two full charges per day since then. Same thing for my co-workers phone's.
When you need to turn off features and hold back on using the phone just to make it last a day seems pathetic to me for an 800$ phone (32GB). Its like buying a fully loaded car and then not using the A/C, the radio, the power moon roof, just to mae it to your destination.
Instead of trying to make a phone paper thin, how about starting with the one thing that the phone cant function without... the battery.
Mine seems to be better than my 3GS. I did a clean set up of my iPhone 4.
I unplugged the phone at 7:30 this morning, and have used it lightly - a few calls and some email as well as some texting and data usage. Sitting at 93% right now.
Usually my 3GS would be more like 84% by this time. Not a huge difference, but noticeable.

Think of battery life as the gas in your car. If you use the A/C all day, you're going to burn through a ton of gas. More so than if you were to tough it out without the A/C.
That $800 phone is just the same as that $80,000 car. They have options that have to be optimized to get the best use out of them.
Personally, I get one to two hours more usage out of my 4 versus my 3G, depending on which functions I take advantage of in a given charge period. 3G data use was never advertised to have received a bump in battery life. WIFI data use did receive a bump, and that's very clear based on my experience. Talk time on 3G received a big bump as well.
So if you're expecting to see more hours of usage while using the phone for 3G data, you'll be disappointed.
Use only WIFI on the phone, and you'll surely get 6 to 7 hours out of it versus the 5 you'd get previously.
