I saw the INQ with Student 40 plan ad at a dealership today, thought it was put out a day early but ok.
The 100mb data plan is meant for feature phones. This INQ Chat 3G seems to be half feature phone and half smartphone in it's design. It looks like a smartphone and has some built in apps similar to what you would find on a smartphone but it's a proprietary OS like a feature phone and the built in apps are pretty much all you can expect to ever use on the thing. Not sure how much of a data hog this phone will be but I think Telus should do well with the thing.
But which way will the whole Student plan and INQ phone fall on the Epic scale, I'm not sure.
I don't think it's an epic Fail but not exactly an epic win either. You cannot increase that 100MB of data either, you must change plans if you want to get more data on that plan. Maybe some people will twist the arm of loyalty and get 5GB bonus data added for 5.1GB in total, that would make it an Epic Win.
100MB would be good for a feature phone, practically unlimited for that purpose but it may be too little for their target market. If anyone wants more than average amounts of data it would be a student market.
