That really blows.
Good thing I got my student plan before the 3rd! My10 Canada-wide ftw (helps a lot since I'm in YUL half the year)

The difference of the new $30 and $50 plans from the plans of the same price that expired on August 3 is that My10 was replaced with My5 and early evenings now is not an overlay, but a selection: it could be chosen instead of My5. They also added a $40 voice only plan which is like the $30 one, but has My5 Canada-wide.
Enjoy

For comparison, until they remove, the old plans:

How disappointing!
With Telus's new student offer and their 6 GB/300 minutes/etc. all for $65, I actually had faith in Rogers this time: I was sure they HAD to release some decent offerings. Not the case, apparently.
This is disappointing for student plans. I guess the same can be said about the regular voice plans. At least we got the 6GB data with the iPhone 4 launch.
You should post your comparison over at http://redboard.rogers.com where they are boosting the new plans. Make sure people know the real changes.
hmmm. 200 minutes? That's it? I really don't get why a student plan starts at $50. Being in university you've got all these other expenses and then bam a $50 monthly expense that doesn't get you anywhere.
I see these "unlimited plans" as attempt by the company to confuse people. Rogers is attempting to change the definition of the term "unlimited". If a Rogers customer walks into a store or calls customer service and asks for an "unlimited plan", they are not asking for Rogers's current offerings and I can almost guarantee that they are really asking for the "unlimited local calling plan".
Lol, that's pretty bad. We should let them know on their "community board".
Haha, that'll never get old for me.
Oi!
Are there no sharp-minded strategists here?! (Are the youth of today dullards ; )
Next year, any students should call in to Rog at the end of July, see if you can negotiate something good for yourself ... but have it noted on your account that you have 30 days to accept.
Then Rog comes out with new plans beginning of Aug.
If they are lame, accept the documented, previous offer.
If they are better than what was available end of July try to use that as leverage to improve upon what you were offered.
If they are better than even what you were offered you'll decline the offer and accept the new plans.
(I suspect this won't work for brand-new activations but for pre-existing cx's, it's a way of having the best of both worlds).
Kids these days ... I tell ya...

So I signed up for the $50 plan (the older one that includes my10) in July. But when I checked my bill now, it says that my evenings start at 9pm, not 6pm, as was advertised:
http://www.rogers.com/web/content/st...0610-_-student
I even signed on board with a 3-year contract. So I called a rep today, and she just gave it to me for 6 months only. But come on, it's advertised in the plan, so I should get it.
She kept saying how that's not what she saw on her system. And I replied well that's what I saw on my computer.
I would have pressed her further, but she told me that there was a tragedy in her family recently, so that kind of held me back.
Any help as to the next step I should take? Anyone else experience this issue?
