I was looking at RFD today, and it looks like people are still lining up at 9am at Apples stores and cell phone dealers in hopes of getting an iPhone. Telus won't let me backorder one...I don't even care how long it takes, I'm just pure lazy and don't want to run around trying to find one...
Why anyone would line up for a phone that is KNOWN defective I don't understand...
Meaning, antenna issues, ok sure you can put a case on it to "fix" it... but it's like buying a car with bald tires, hey it's new, the tires might keep you on the road if you hold the steering wheel right but do something wrong and END CALL... or Life.
I walked into Andre's yesterday which has a Telus department and I was looking at phone cases and noticed the girl behind the counter was sporting an iPhone 4 and a guy in his mid 50's comes up and asks about getting an iPhone and the girl said none in stock. I went over to look at some TV's since I'm in the market for a new one, went back to the Telus section 20 minutes later and there was a younger guy that showed up asking about the iPhone as well. I went to ask the girl how she liked her iPhone and she said it's the best phone she'd use so far and I just chuckled.

I'm assuming that you chuckled because she was a 'young girl'.
Cause the iPhone 4 really isn't that bad of a phone. It may not be for everyone, but for the ones that like the iPhone 3gs, then they'll like the 4. I am just getting tired of my iPhone personally. It was a nice toy, but i'd like my business phone back. I might try out an android phone of sorts. Probably the htc desire or similar. Maybe the Droid X if we get it here in some form...

Some dealers will put you on a waiting list and call you when they get a shipment of phones.
I have a dealer who has provided me with 4 iphones so far for a small business account, we asked them to reserve 6 phones for us in total so we are still waiting for another 2 to arrive.
Another dealer I use locally has a waiting list, if you were on it and they get stock they would phone the next people on the list and they have until the end of the day to come pick it up.
