Gordon, I second that!
Wind needs brand name phones to be taken seriously.
Most importantly and I can't stress this enough, they MUST remove the port blocking nonsense!
I know what you mean... but I only suggested it because it seems like WIND and Huawei are the best of friends right now... they have 3 Huawei devices in there 7 device lineup.
I was thinking, "If they're going to get a Huawei device, at least it could be one of the more better ones..."
But I totally agree with better devices, outside of Huawei. The Motorola XT720 would be a good start...

4 Huawei devices actually.

LOL nice! Looks like somebody is serious about having solid proof
I wonder if this will have 512MB or 256MB of RAM.. because the Internet is full of conflicting reports and apparently there are a few different versions of this handset as well.
The one which is going to land @ WIND most probably is going to be with the following Internal Specs (because this is the one sold by Wind's partner Cellworldco @ $569.00)
Operation System Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair)
Internal Memory 150 MB storage, 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
Card Slot Type microSD, up to 32GB, 8GB card included
CPU ARM Cortex A8 720 MHz processor
Talk Time Up to 4 h 30 min (2G) / Up to 9 h (3G)
Stand-by Time Up to 320 h (2G) / Up to 320 h (3G)
256 megs of ram kinda sucks. But it will be fine for 2.2. Cpu should be alright as well for most things. Its got hdmi output as well as a xenon flash. Kinda an odd phone really. Hdmi and xenon flash are usually reserved for very high end phones, wonder why they chose to go with a slower cpu and less ram and not an amoled screen? But anyhow, if they price it right it could be a pretty big seller.
AMOLED screens demand is too high that Samsung is not supplying them to other manufacturers anymore. Besides, larger AMOLED screens are not that great because Samsung uses the pentile subpixel arrangement for the larger AMOLED screens. The 854x480 screens that Motorola prefers to use are actually top notch quality and have a higher resolution than most WVGA (800x480) screens used in other high end Android phones.
I really like the design of the XT720. The blue metallic back cover looks really nice. Hardware wise, the whole package itself is not really better than my Nexus One, except for the camera. So I guess I'll wait for the next generation or something
Am I the only one that thinks it's a little thick though...? They could have done with just the silver portion of the device and it would be perfect...
