i hope this fixes the issue with the moto t505 and voice dialing. The microphone doesn't seem to work.

    OTA update

I just installed it via USB (I'm rooted and the OTA doesn't seem to work with root). Not noticing any differences... I thought it would be Froyo but nope... anyone know what it's for? pretty big update, around 30mb...

My Telus Milestone says no update is available, do you have a download link for the manual update?

I think this is the same update Europe got a while back. Just some fixes with audio and such.

Confirmed: This update will remove root.

Any ideas on how to re-root after this?

I think this update was leaked in July from the G.O.T team?
    http://groupoften.wordpress.com/2010...elus-released/

You can flash that one with RSD Lite and it already has the vulnerable recovery menu, from which you can make Nandroid backups with OpenRecovery.

OpenRecovery can be copied to your SD card:
    http://groupoften.wordpress.com/2010...covery-v1-04a/

To access the recovery menu: Hold down Camera while turning on, then when the special screen shows up, press Volume Up and Camera. Choose the update.zip, then select Root.

Hm... I checked after updating and I still had my whitelist and my root programs are still on the list. But when I go to use them it says that permissions were revoked.

    How did you root 2canchew.

    Download easyroot http://www.unstableapps.com/?p=44
Best $2.99 I ever spent! One click to root.
    Unlimited calling canada(free fongo app) + unlimited texting(1.99 fongo app) + 10gb lte data plan(Bell $50 + tax) + Voicemail/caller(free fongo app) = $56.99!!

    Okay deep breath everyone =)

I applied this update via the G.O.T. leaked SBF a while ago. At the time I stopped being able to access protected apps in the Market. So I restored a backup of my build.prop from the prior Telus 2.1 and all was well. To those who have upgraded: Can you see protected apps still in the Market? (e.g. A Online Radio is one that I search for to judge this)

Now regarding root. If you reapply the vulnerable recovery SBF using RSDLite, then your phone will be able to accept an update.zip that lets you apply root (such as OpenRecovery).

Yes the one-click root exists now too using a different exploit. But it won't help you make nandroid backups, which are very useful for Milestone rooters!

I made a mistake... I saw my root apps, and the su whitelist and figured root remained in tact. But like you i went to try and use an app that requires root and they don't work.

Didn't realize this until after posting, sorry.
