i'm loving the firmware update
it fixed my microphone issues that sometimes the noise cancelling software was cancelling out my own voice because my background was too quiet/too noisy. especially in the car.
The update just adds to some basic functionality besides fixing the audio and other bugs.
If you go to the security section, it now has the option to delay the security: instead of enabling the passcode or pattern every time the screen is turned off, you can tell it to wait a length of time.
It also lets you deselect or select "auto check for software updates"
What does this change the firmware to after the update?
I certainly have not done updates in the last week, and my OTA update is still saying (since I got the Milestone) that it cannot connect to the server, and the Motorola Software Update on PC says there's no update.
My Milestone isn't rooted or anything either.
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Firmware config version: GAS_NA_SHOUTELUS_P011
I did that last update when 2.1 first came out for the Milestone
Edit: of course after I typed this, realized my phone rebooted on it's own (one of the fixed issues), and it performed the update fine after that, through the software (still won't do OTA).
Changed firmware config version to: GAS_NA_SHOUTELUS_P012

Hi,
I didn't update over the air, but downloaded the executable instead.
Try looking here:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/209555
It shows a summary of what has been changed, and the link to the download.
i'm skipping this one, come on with 2.2 already!
Hey, looks like the official Telus Milestone 2.1 Update is up!
