I'm considering the droid 2 over the incredible. I've heard that the incredible is better, but I'm moving up from the original droid and really want to keep the keyboard.. Is the incredible THAT much better? I'd prefer to stick with a phone with the keyboard (I actually didn't even mind the keyboard on the original droid)....
I just purchased the Droid 2 several days ago. I'm extremely happy with the phone and have it setup to my liking. The only problem I'm having is on the 7 different home pages. Settings / Display I have Auto-rotate screen selected. This works great for all of the screens except the home pages. They always remain in portrait mode unless I slide open the physical keyboard. Then they switch to landscape mode. They return to portrait mode when I close the keyboard. This is regardless of how I'm holding the phone. Is this a bug, a feature or a user error?
Oh yea, I still haven't been able calibrate the compass and yes I did click "Calibrate".
EDIT - After doing some further research, I learned that the non-auto-rotating home pages that I described above are a feature. Supposedly Launcher Pro can be used to "disable" this feature.

Location Unavailable - is this a manufacturers defect? its so annoying to not have location service with the native browser on the google phone. All the location settings are checked and my location works in maps. Any suggestions?

After going thru 4 D2's since november, which I was upgraded to after going thru 11 droid 1's in nine months, I clocked over 23 hours on the phone with both Verizon tech support and Motorola tech support. Being that I am a network engineer the conversations were heavy on the geek side. the D2 is jacked, I've been regraded over to a samsung fascinate since the recurring issues concerning memory degredation, non dominent tower association, and a WiFi protocal faulty provisioning code... the D2 is being phased out. I was told by motorola, with verizon on the line, and the reason the D2 came out right before the D2G was because Verizon was demanding it and pushing for it before it was ready... so since they were still ironing problems out with the D2G GSM/CDMA interface's they rushed the D2 out to make the client happy, resulting in a piece of hardware that is wrought with problems.
Please reconsider before getting the handset, if you can even get this handset anymore. Motorola devices at the moment are all suffering from the majority of the issues listed due to manufaturer hardware configuration issues. Stick with HTC or Samsung.
